Nothing as yet... Helos will apparently be DLC, and I think you'll need time for third parties for warbirds/fast jets. There are definitely a few of the latter in development.

Well, that's not very good for MS's flagship flight simulator. How the hell can they have a flight simulator and not include an entire aircraft type, i.e. rotary aircraft? I mean, it's not as if they're some rare, exotic mode of transport or something. I'd be sacking the **** who thought that a good idea to sign off on.

What are we supposed to be seeing?

I'm holding off installing any add-ons for a while. In fact I'd recommend spending a few pennies on navigraph. You get vfr, low and high airways maps and the position of your plane is tracked. Handy on a tablet and the charts are invaluable for things like ILS approaches.

From Windowscentral:

The first DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator plans to introduce helicopters, expanding its simulation with a new class of transport. The team has explored helicopter models, set to provide a framework for the vastly different systems and aerodynamics, over the existing plane roster. It expects the paid DLC to include a selection of helicopters, helipads, playable missions, and other luxuries beyond the raw implementation.

Paid DLC? They can **** right off! Helos should be in the game as standard.
Think they might be following the Dovetail model and I did kind of suspect this all along. Put out a flawed game sold on the eye candy, with the occasional lightweight fix, but aggressively pushing DLC. You can bet it won’t be cheap either for the helicopter DLC.

Can someone do me a favour and take some screenshots and post them here of Shoreham airport in Flight Sim? I'm really intrigued to see how good it looks (and the general area of Shoreham / River Adur). I live near by but can't get this game yet as I am pretty sure my rig won't cope.

Really enjoying this so far, even if the controls are taking a lot of memorising using a combination of Xbox pad and keyboard. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well my rig is dealing with it. 3600X, 16GB, 1070. 1080p ultra running fine. The frame rate isn’t amazing but it’s consistent and smooth and my pc isn’t melting!

Just want to add my experience ! Don't be fooled in to thinking you need to have 60 FPS to enjoy this game because you don't its not a Shooting game , I have the game set at 4K and have everything on Ultra and it runs great and still feels smooth , try it ...... I am using 1080ti 32gb DDR4 and i7 8700k. Averaging out about 25-30 FPS

Agree my laptop runs it at Ultra and it’s smooth enough. No idea what FPS it’s running but it plays fine.

It is lacking in Aircraft would be nice to have a DC-3. I’m sure they will come as DLC which is a given. Let’s just hope they don’t remove the base game from game pass....

Looking to try this out via the game pass, I only have the Xbox controller. Is that still a decent option or would I need to pick up something like the Thrustmaster Hotas One to at least get some decent experience?

I use the T Flight HOTAS 1 at the min until my Warthog gear comes its a good stick...a game pad will work but ill have a HOTAS over a gamepad any day of the week

Seems pretty buggy to me. Started a training mission the other day and it failed to draw the plane. Had to restart the training then it worked fine. And in the take-off training twice now it's frozen when something appeared in the top right but disappears without getting the chance to read it so end up flying around with no idea what to do next.
Can't seem to order a joystock from anywhere atm so will forget about it for a while. Only trying the £1 game pass atm anyway.
Too difficult using keyboard only or maybe I'm just rubbish :D

Xbox controller is enough to start playing. I have a X52 which I only really hook up to the PC when I know I will be spending 1+hr on the game. Otherwise, the controller is enough to control the game and fly!
