**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

The weight was standard as FS set it at and I was flying over France crossing into Switzerland.

Also what I mean the plan isn't level with the horizon the the screen it's constantly pointing up which is slowing the plan down, like it's trying to climb even when it was above the altitude hold.

Surely the process of ascent is the same as 10-20 as it is at 35-45k?

It's also worth considering that the default airliners are absolute garbage, in particular the autopilots are extremely buggy. If you want anything close to realism you're going to need third party add-ons which are a while away yet.

Normal airliners in flight will typically sit from 2-3º nose up in level flight, so don't be drawn into thinking you must be level with the horizon at 0º for level flight :)

Not only airliners, had so many arguments with so called real pilots saying GA aircraft works great once you set sensitivity, well fixing sensitivity doesn't change the fact in game controls are completely wrong. There is something wrong with Bonanza G36 it dons't maintain cruising speed and I failed to climb above 15k ft it feels like date is copy and paste from C172. This game is very forgiving, you can slam the plane on runway without crash and it will let you land where you shouldering be able to.
This game is trolling me, found a nice river to land in icon

Well this is not what I had in mind.

Does strike me as odd. The plus side is that you get to try it out now like all the alpha/beta testers... I think we’re still beta testers now!

Once they’ve had time to fix the most egregious errors, implement support for VR and triples, move over to DX12 and third parties have had time to release decent products then I think this sim will really find its stride and be magnificent. Question is when that all happens, maybe not this year... in the mean time it’s still enjoyable for me though, it’s just not fulfilling its potential.

Part in bold is quite crucial here and the case for many I think. Such a massive piece of software and we don't know the thought processes internally, ie, maybe they felt going round i circles with issues due to limited testing by external testers. Ultimately the best way to get feedback, fix all issues is to put it out there to customers. So many difference setups/configs that it's probably impossible for internal or external alpha/beta tests to test everything
.
Some of the issues are a little surprising to have got through internal and alpha and beta testing to be honest, so either those testing maybe weren't reporting the issues or MS had too much to fix. I know from past experience people sometiems do beta testing just to get access to software early/at no cost but fail to perform the role (to report all issues found). But for the company releasing the software, they're losing time to market

We had almost no communication from Asobo or Microsoft during Alpha, and the new retail version was not available for Alpha testers. Can't blame people in alpha for the work they did.

From what I've heard from most alpha testers is that a good portion of the most visible bugs were actually reported, and just weren't fixed.

Not blaming anyone, just a few thoughts. Worked in the software industry for years including QC type roles so always find it interesting the strategies companies take along with the pro's and con's, successes and failures.

Well I do hope for an update with new aircraft, some fighter jets, maybe even the Concorde! Some helicopters?

Anyone flown around the docklands and canary wharf? The state of it !!!!
