**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Has anybody been able to get a Microsoft Sidewinder Force feedback 2 Stick to work with this? if so, how did you manage it?

At this rate I'll be going back to X-Plane, I can understand an old stick being unsupported by some publishers, but think for Microsoft to not support such an old but widely used stick is pretty lame, especially when it carries their name..... :/

Yes got it working. I can link the settings later, unfortunately can't right now mate. Have you managed to do it now?

Yes i read about FS Force yesterday, Thing is i've got FFB on mine, It works a charm! Am i the only one that has lucked into working FFB or something?

I have FFB working too.:)

I just spent like an hour flying from San Francisco to Los Angeles only for the game to crash on approach to LA international lol :-|

BTW if you really want to see how much this game can tank your frame rate, try flying over los angeles. Holy crap, I must have been getting like 10fps and I have a 2080ti!

From what I've heard from most alpha testers is that a good portion of the most visible bugs were actually reported, and just weren't fixed.

Yes, because that's what software companies do these days. They completely ignore reports from testers and release the game in a broken and bugged state anyway, because they know damn well people will still rush to buy the game and it then doesn't matter if they fix the bugs at a future time or not because they already have your money.

More bugs last night - aircraft not responding to steering on the ground and veering off to the right when trying to take off. Not P-factor as the settings are dialled down in options. Tried with my Logitech Flight Stick and the Xbox pad (after re-configuring both) and same thing.

Loaded up XP11 then FSX and joystick working perfectly.

Really beginning to think MS need to pull this and give it back to the developer to finish off. The forthcoming patch mentions nothing about autopilot or other control issues being fixed.

That's happened to me twice. I've just put it down until a patch is released, it's too frustrating right now.

I have same bug and the only way I manage to fix it is to go in to control sensitivity move axis responsible for rudder and hit F11 to save. Make sure your josytick is selected for some reason it will select mouse as default. Control bar for rudder should be in the middle but every time I start game it's not.

What settings have you guys got clouds on? Mine are on high and sometimes look great but other times seem really pixelated in areas or is that just how they are?

I bumped mine from High to Ultra, the darker the clouds the more horrible they look and to be honest some mods for FSX had better clouds.

Out of interest you sure it wasn’t due to wind?

No I was taking off from Basrah, clear skies and no wind.

I didn't adjust the actual setting which I'd already got where I wanted it, but moved all the axis around then hit F11. Maybe I'll try a small tweak but the whole thing is intensely annoying, in a 60 quid game.

When I was testing my joystick hadn't broken, I set up a flight in FSX and have to say the twilight sky and cloud effects looked much better than the new sim.

Would be a certain irony if Dovetail actually did quite well out of this with more people buying FSX on the rebound from FS2020!

Further to my post above, no that didn't work either. Planes are still turning to the right on the ground as soon as you apply power.

Now seriously considering trying to get a refund for this pile of poop.

As with most mods released at this stage, install with caution, looks to be a very first stab at a fighter jet, with many bugs. I'm biding my time before I install ANY mods.
Mods go in community folder which doesn't efect game itself, you can always delate it. There is a free improvement mod for A320

I would maybe try offical forum, I know its a common bug.

Well I submitted a request though with played time at 21 hours (of which only 6 is flying and that trying to kill bugs) I don’t rate my chances, even with the additional leniency. Failing that, guess it’s put it to one side and see if the patches eventually come.

Cars don't track 100% straight without corrective input either, even on a perfectly flat surface.

Light aircraft are far worse than cars in this respect between the way they are set up mechanically & all the aerodynamics involved.

Maybe the airfield has an incline too.

Is it an issue on that particular airport, or does it happen everywhere...

The only other solution I did find on official forum is to change flight model from legacy to modern, would be good if you can take screenshot of your primary controls and sensitivity for axis.
