**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Not sure if this has been linked before, but there is a really good head tracker to use with your phone: https://www.reddit.com/r/flightsim/...rned/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I've downloaded it and given it a quick go and it works really well.

I don't have trackIR, but looking at the comments, it works smoother than that.

I'll play around with it more later today, but so far I'm very impressed!

Ive just had a quick trip around Nice with that and it works really well. So much more intuitive than looking with the mouse. Slight feeling of nausea but I’ll stick with it!

Yeah, first time using anything like this, the feeling of immersion is great!

I also used it with Assetto Corsa, it's not as responsive, there is a slight delay, but still very usable, feels perfect for the slower paced games, not sure if it can be tuned in the program settings, but it's brought a new dimension to my gaming.

Flying small planes through clouds is breathtaking, flew through extreme cloud trying to fly over Mt Fuji, zero visibility until I flew into the side of Mt Fuji.

But the 2nd attempt saw multiple breakthroughs into valleys of clouds with blue skies above. Flying from a pea souper fog into the blue skies is epic.

By far the best clouds I've ever seen in gaming, have to go back to Wave Race 64 to a game thay impressed me as much with its rendition of an element, but in that game it was water. The clouds in 2020 are just magnificent.

Did a 'spring' mod on my X55 the other day and have to say sorry did not do this ages ago. So much better than the centre mush you get with the single spring and much more precise.

Anyone know if it's possible to fix the roll axis of the cockpit camera to the aircraft? The way it lags when rolling and tries to stay upright when banked is doing my nut in.

I've never suffered from motion sickness but throwing the Pitts around makes me feel slightly queasy just with TrackIR. If they don't fix this for the VR release it'll be dreadful.

Seems a very strange thing to not have an option for, but I'll be damned if I can find one. Software developers are a weird bunch.

Tried the patagonia bush trip three times now, and each time when I've landed (think its the xcub?), the plane has tipped forward on the runway and crashed! Maybe I shouldn't be using the brakes?

Landing speeds are so slow that you shouldn't need to use the brakes. Especially on unsurfaced runways which slow it down a lot quicker than paved ones.

I found it tended to nose over if the brakes were applied hard, but that could be avoided with modulation. Are you braking with an axis or keyboard/button? If the latter, quick taps might be safer than holding it down.

It is full grass, on a post i made on steam forums, they have given similar replys, down to the ai engine trying to understand the bing maps mainly.

Anyone got any knobs? :D

I'd like to get some hardware knobs for heading/altitude/MFD controls etc. Controlling them with mouse is a pain in the butt...

Just tried "driving" around by pressing insert and using drone mode down at road height, totally surreal and almost a game in its own right.

Looks like a post apocalyptic wasteland in some areas, was amazed see some buildings with blocky but readable signage. Some buildings are fairly detailed right up close. Can see houses with lights shining like TV through the windows. Well worth trying out to see an area in more detail.

Quoting myself...just ordered the Logitech autopilot panel. Doesn't work out of the box at the moment so I'll need to write some code...

If you figure something out please let me know. My switch panel just sits there looking fat dumb and not happy. Lol
