**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Not heard anything but I hope so. The basic game is around 120GB

Checked Steam this morning, no sign of anything yet.

However will this install to the Steam folder as one of the flightsim forums has indicated this has been coded as a Windows "app" which means it goes into one of the MS locations on your O/S (C:) drive. That may be incorrect, of course.

I am pre installing on gamepass and I got to choose the drive, but not the folder. No idea if Steam version would behave any differently

I've pre-loaded my copy through Game Pass but it only appears to have downloaded and installed 990MB of data. Anyone else the same? That's not much of a pre-load tbh!

Also, is the beta still available for Game Pass?

Yeah same here. There was me thinking I could get a head start on it.

Same the pre load is the app, but luckily the full game downloads from within the game and from what I can tell it uses asobo servers to download the bulk when released.

I really wish I could get into this. I have thousands of hours in MSFS and spent a fortune on add on's and hardware. However, since my sight went wonky I have not been unable to play it.
I loaded FSX the other day to have a go but it was pointless.
It looks amazing on the vid's I have seen

This is why I am trying it out on game pass, since my sight is poor.

Yeah I find if I focus too long on anything close up, can generate a temporary blind spot*. Noticed recently has started occurring with PC screens if I do anything intense like trying to look at small text = one reason why I struggle with FSX at least on the 4K screen as a lot of the fonts are fixed and appear tiny. I'm hoping FS2020 addresses that.

*Not turning this into a medical thread... but I did mention it to my optician back in March who kind of looked at me blank and after a bit of persuasion agreed a hospital referral, which promptly went nowhere due to the C-19 outbreak!

Really looking forward to this - not long now!

In FSX I liked playing with a mod called FS passengers, where you would take virtual passengers on commercial flights etc. Has anyone heard of any mods like this in the works for this flight simulator?

Not sure if in development but I really enjoyed air hauler for fsx, was going to get it for xplane but think that's not going to get played anymore now.

Only problem with FS Passengers was you couldn’t save and resume a flight later, so anything long haul was pretty much impossible if you only had an hour or so on the game.
