Does anyone know if we will be able to Pre load the steam version before tuesday?
I hope so as 120Gb will be a long wait even at 8 or 9 Mbs. However as I noted above no sign of any pre load either in the Steam client or in the directory structure. Will resign myself to probably not playing this until Wednesday evening.

Damn that sucks..I have a 27MB/sec download speed so will take me hours..Was going to have tuesday off work for this..Not really no point now if theres no pre load..Cheers for the info tho

What spec machines are people using to get buttery smooth performance?
Looking to upgrade from a 4770kz.

Alpha/Beta was a very smooth experience on my 3900x and GTX1080 at 1440p, 30-60fps all the time on High settings. A different experience altogether from the XP11/P3D days.

Not sure if in development but I really enjoyed air hauler for fsx, was going to get it for xplane but think that's not going to get played anymore now.

Ooo thanks, I’ll have to check that out! I did a little research last night and also found one called “Self-Loading Cargo”, which I think are looking to support FS2020 from the get go! :)

Anyone know yet how well my specs will run this ?
8700k, 32GB, 2080ti , 60MB internet

What going to be the most important out the Cpu, GPU, Memory & internet connection speed ?

This is a bit like asking how a Aerial Atom is going to handle a track day :p

It's not CPU heavy, it is definitely GPU and RAM heavy, so your system should cope really well even at ultrawide or 4k. I'd say once you load a few more add-ons, especially something like a PMDG aircraft, you will start to see a lot more CPU usage, but your 8700k isn't going to be holding you back.

Thanks

My main Monitor is a 1440 ultrawide but am hoping to play this a fair bit on my larger 4K OLED (60hz)

If i remember right when FSX came out it ran like a dog even on very high end systems

FSX is a 32bit application, even Dovetail couldn't overcome that for the Steam version. So no matter how much hardware you throw at it can only use 4Gb (I think) of RAM. It also suffers from the fixed font size issue if you try and run at 4K.

Same as mine except I have a 2070S. I can run on ultra it most areas and it's fine. Not looking at FPS. You'll be more than fine. Running at 3440 x 1440. Game is GPU bound.

Indeed too much sarcasm flying around today :)

On another note... do any of you use TrackIR or similar? I know there are webcam based alternatives out there?

E: genuinely didn't mean the pun above!
