*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Well my WiiU / Xenoblade bundle has arrived... Now just need to wait ~8 hours until I get my mitts on it (delivered to the in laws and won't get there until ~5ish).

I'm like a kid at Christmas now....

:D

First thing i did was change the camera settings, as I found default ones too slow/floaty.

The game is exceeding my expections so far, its got me hooked for sure. Quite a few systems to get your head around but they are interesting, fairly intuitive and all fit together so well, some awesome rpg stuff here :D.

I know I posted earlier in this thread about this but I'm still trying to make up my mind. I'd really love one of the new Nintendo 3DS XL models and still can't decide if it is worth the money. More and more rumours which I trust are saying that the new Nintendo consoles will be out sometime next year (some say as early as July). That would give me 6 months of gaming but the 3DS has a huge back catalogue of games that I'd love to play as well as being able to play DS games as well. Not to mention virtual console games that are not available on the Wii U (which I currently own).

I might be getting some money for Christmas which would effectively mean it'll cost me £80 for the 3DS XL which seems like a reasonable price. Plus I guess I could pick some cheap games on eBay or something as well.

Hmm. Decisions, decisions. Then there are also Amiibo which I'd like to collect as well. So many things to buy and no where near enough money to buy them all :(.

Aww yeah:

Now I have the process of setting up the console and getting everything ready to play the game.

About an hour in and really enjoying it so far. The combat system is taking some getting used to (haven't played anything like this in quite some time) but I have made some decent progress.

I am currently streaming off disc as I couldn't find the downloads on the eshop (wasn't looking that hard TBH), so far so good with minimal noticeable pop in when roaming about. Only just got to the city thingy where I understand pop in is much worse (not that is a massive problem anyway).

Only two downsides so far:

1) I am really struggling to get used to the wiiU gamepad again after so long away from one. I know this will take time but it is still frustrating missing the timings due to my ineptness...

2) I can't have pigtails on the character I want....

Tried taking a picture but couldn't get it to upload to photobucket. Looks like I will have to create an Imgur account to get them up.

It really is a good looking game and a testament to what can be squeezed out of the WiiU if the developer actually tries.

If your not a fan of the controller have a look at the Wii U Pro controller, just be careful when buying it as their are a lot of fakes out their.

I was not planning on getting xenoblade, but reviews seem great and I have not used my wii u as much as I would like as of late so I am going to order it :D

Nice setup there owen. No need to miss out on any games ;)
