***Official North Yorkshire Moors Meet 2 thread**

get the impression id be at the back in my barge, showing me up for the slow driver i am rofl

Tbh it's not exactly a race - just a spirited drive when appropriate. I managed to keep up with everyone last time in my dirty diesel so you'll have no problems ;)

You're not forced/pressured to go faster than you are comfortable with, and as long as you drive courteously and let anyone past if they want to be then there won't be any problems (there won't be anyway but you get the gist)

I live in thornton dale about 5 minute walk from the carpark.

I dont think my citreon berlingo is eye catching enough to come long though, hehe

if you want to come along in a Citroen Berlingo, you are as welcome as anyone else, it's not just about the cars, it's about sharing an interest, i.e Motors and it's always nice to get a look at other peoples cars. Also, living in that area, you may have an advantage in knowing the area better than i do :)

You can change your mind if you like ;)

Had the 600 since June, and while it's not been trouble free (as expected) it whoops the ass of most cheap barges.

It's hard to remember there's 1.3 tonnes of metal behind you when you're somewhere like the moors in a Ti, feels pretty nimble! :)

Any cheap 'performance' car will cause you hassle.

If you look after it (and not bouncing off the limiter in first :p) it'll look after you. Mine has done well in the time that I've owned it, despite it now being 15 years old. Yeah, it's been in bits a few times to replace pretty major components, but that's to be expected. Gearboxes and turbos don't last forever.

Look at Adam's 325, that's cost him a small fortune in the short time that he's owned it and he didn't pay much for that.

Aye, apparently soon it's off with the back brake assembly... again! From what he was saying yesterday he isn't too chuffed! At the side of the A6 I touched the back disc and got a very sore finger :p

Oh and first gear works again! \o/ Probably about time I put MTF94 in the box instead of 10/40 now, though. And it only bounced when it decided it wanted to be in neutral, and not 1st under hard acceleration. :D

Fit a boost controller and you won't need 1st :p I may have one for sale soon ;) (I'll even fit it for you!)

And no, it's not the brakes... he thinks the rear diff is knackered. It's going in to be checked out tomorrow.

Oh **** :(

TBH, I checked both sides and they both burnt my fingers! He said he also had autobox issues, could this be another InvaderGIR BMW story? :(

Tis really disheartening when you pick up a car and have issues from the off.

I keep telling him he should have kept the MG :D He had a bright yellow ZR120, it was fantastic!

Shouldn't have let him have a drive of mine really. He bought a Coupe Turbo a few weeks later!

He'll get the BMW fixed this time, but if it breaks again I don't think he'll want to keep it.

And I completely agree... can be pretty gutting after splashing out all that money.

Lets hope he gets something like a T again, although watching his back end fly sideways round those corners was pretty awesome!

Seems a shame, but you pays your money you makes you choice I suppose. Looks in good nick, went out for a spin and felt nice enough.

He told me about the incident with the rozzers, and him in the MG with you following! Fun times... sometimes wonder if a ZR would be worthy as they are semi-reliable :p

Doubt he will. After the Coupe blew up, he wanted a Ti but then had his sights set on a 3 series.

He got a good engine (and my god, does it sound nice) but with a fail gearbox. Gotta say though, it's pretty nice to drive and has NO rattles at all!

Incident with the rozzers... I forget. Remind me :p

edit... Oh wait... I remember. :D :D (It was actually me in front. He was trying to keep up :p)

Rattles, I can understand. When he came out in mine we tried to listen to a squeak mine had developed from the front somewhere, but during that run the dash decided it was more important and consequently started rattling away :D
