I read you had to be level 10+ to do the skeleton key quest; not sure if it's true though.

No idea to be honest, I only realised half way through that some missions require you at a certain level and can't remember if this was one of them.

According to the in-tar-web yes, you have to be level 10. Same as you have to be at certain levels for the other Daedric quests.

The reasoning is sound. Wouldnt be right a level 1 character doing all the quests and getting mega armour/weapons/items :p

Aye, I've got plenty of Soul Gems, and 3 Varla Stones too. Varla Stones are excellent if you have magical items, as they recharge them all to maximum (so don't use them if you only have one magical item, it's better to wait until you have several that need fully recharging).

Do you know about Soul Gems and how they're used?

No idea m8 i just seem em and noticed they was worth a few bob so nicked em after kicking some monks ass lol

Robbed loads of stones as well :D

I dont tend to use much magic at the mo just recharge my self tbh most of it confuses me lol.

I heard you could poison arrows or something?

First of all - Soul Gems. You'll find on your travels that you'll come across magical weapons that have certain enchantments on them, ranging from extra damage, to poisons, and most points inbetween. Each weapon will have a certain amount of uses before the magic inside is used up, and it will then just do the regular damage for that weapon. You can use a filled Soul Gem to recharge some or all of the magic, depending on how much it needs to fill it, and what kind of Soul Gem you're using.

You can fill an empty Soul Gem by using the Soul Trap spell. You cast it on your enemy just before you kill him, and assuming you kill him in time (which will vary depending on the strength of the Soul Trap spell), you will trap his soul in a Soul Gem, which can then be used as above.

Definitely keep and fill as many Soul Gems as you can, as not only will you find some very useful magical weapons, you can create your own using Sigil Stones, or by enchanting them when you get access to the Arcane University. It'd be a shame to create a great weapon and then not be able to recharge it.

As for poisons, indeed you can poison your arrows, as well as your sword/axe/whatever too. All you need to do is make/buy a poison (I much prefer making them, I get more control over what I'm doing). Then just go into your inventory and select the poison, press A and it will ask you if you'd like to apply the poison to your bow/weapon. You'll only get one hit/shot from each poison, so make sure you don't miss :)

Uuurrmm, King of Mascarcand? A little help anyone? I swear all the doors around are looked then he just looks at me funny and I die :(

I already posted about this - in the end I legged it past him, unlocked a ruddy bloody hard door and sprinted off. One day I shall return and quash him though! You clearly need a lot of magic protection as that staff he has seems to harness the power of the bleedin' sun or something.

Just start harvesting random plants when you're out in the wild, then go into your Inventory and check the ingredients. A tootip will pop out showing you the effects of the ingredient. There are 4 effects each ingredient can have, but you'll only be able to see (and use) a certain number depending on your level of Alchemy (a novice will see only 1 effect, while at journeyman level like myself, I can see 3 of the 4 effects). You'll need 2 ingredients that have the same effect (such as damage health) to make a poison, as long as you have a Mortar & Pestle, available from pretty much every city in the Alchemy/Magic shops.

Good man, you've given me my mission for tonight, this will no doubt come in very handy before I start doing the Theif's Guild quests :)

No worries, now if you find out how to get inside the Orrery, don't forgot me! ;)
