Any cheap spells that get your mysticism up? You need 25 to be able to Soul Trap and I'm on 5 :(

{repeating myself} If ya want a good trick for raising your magical attributes get into the arcane university. Make a spell that is the minimum magic cost and make sure it is a spell you can set to 'self' (targeted spells have to hit a target) and wander round casting it. Easy peasey!

been setting myself on fire for days now getting my destruction skill up! lol. {/repeat}

Anyone doing/done 'The Forlorn Watchman' where you have to save the Ghost, and go onto the "Emma May" ? There's a really tough ghost and i just can't beat him, he uses some kind of spell which drains your energy and gives it to him constantly :(

Great quest that one. Managed to beat him with with a few fireballs. Try to find a resist magicka potion which helps for a few seconds.

anyone know how to get into fort grief its on a small island in middle of a lake and u cant enter through the gate says theres another entrance or summin right near bravil.

when is dawn and dusk? ARGH!

Why do you need any more accurate an answer than 'when the sun rises and sets'? If you need to be somewhere for dawn then get there when it's still dark.

I found this last night on my quest looking for grand soul gems, I couldn't get in either.

I can't remember if it's the same place, but one fort on an island I went into was for a quest from someone in Bravil (I think, the city is just south west of the island).

Is anyone else having trouble getting money together in the game? I never seem to get more than 2000-3000 gold no matter what I do, which is a pain as I'd like to buy a house somewhere to have a safe place to keep all my excess gear.

Yep, money does seem a bit of an issue, I'm guessing that as I progress and face higher level enemies, the value of dropped items should go up. It did last night when I hit lev 8 whilst doing a mages guild quest anyway...

you can buy a house well a run down shack but guess you could call it a hse has walls and a roof its in imperial city on the water front u need to talk to some omen in the market area who sells it for 2000.

*** do u mean a door in a tower in fort grief searched the whole island for a door into to it other than the main gate. i even decided maybe they pulled a tomb raider and put some sort of underwater tunnel to get in.
also anyone noticed the lack of secret treasures in the depths of big lakes woulda thought perfect place to hide summin.

At the start I was wondering how on earth I was going to be able to afford the house in Bruma for 10,000 and that's not even the most expensive! I've finally got about 8500 through selling off magic weapons/armour that I collect and have no real use for, as well as the rarer potion ingredients (managed to collect about 30 fire salts, or whatever it's called, from the flamy daedra things - worth about 50 gold each, and made about 1500 from selling vampire dust). I've also sacrificed training opportunities to save money.

I love fighting the Flame Matronachs (or however it's spelt), as I'm a Dark Elf I have a great resistance to fire, so they can throw fireballs at me all day long and I just stand there smiling at them :D

That reminds me, I think I have a ring that protects 10% against fire and frost attacks, and a bow of numbing that sorts them out nicely with frosty arrows. I also have a rather nice enchanted silver elven sword that inflicts fire damage that I have called Hot Potato. "Do you wish to poison the Hot Potato?" :D

ooo I closed my first Oblivion gate last night *the seige of Knvatch* (sp?) or something like that.

Was quite good although I hadn't actually planned on it lol.

THe one thing I found hard was in the Oblivion planes there was a daedric Scout with a box and I cuold barely get near him as every time I got hit with the arrow I got knocked back and as soon as I recovered I would get hit again. Managed to do it in the end though.

Got quite a bit of money and a lot of weapons I can sell now.

Also I am finally level 2 lol. It took me quite a while to work out the levelling ideas (I am relatively new to RPG's).
