How are you guys getting all this cash? I'm about 53 hours in & have had 6000 gold at most at any one time (and haven't been spending much at all).
As you level up, so does the world around you giving you access to better loot. I've hit 17 today and my bank balance has shot from 30k to 60k now and I'm finding a ton of armour bits everywhere which sell for loads

does anyone know what the point in the ayleid statues are?? i am sure there is a thing where u collect 10 of them, but does that mean i need to have 10 of them on me or can i sell them as i get them??

See above but also, join the Guilds then hop round all the towns selling everything from the Guild halls :) /me goes back to leave more empty Guild halls

Edit : How ******* cool are the Dark Brotherhood quests? Just dropped the mounted head on a guy :D Finding the Argonian main power of 60s Invisibility very handy with their quests!

Due to a nasty quest bug I cannot progress up the Fighters Guild ranks until an update fixes it, so would joining the Dark Brotherhood or Theives guild mess up my status in the FG? I'm a bit nervous about taking up the latter two guilds atm but have little to do...

Which rank are you in the Fighters Guild? I'm up to Soldier level in Fighters guild and not had any problems so far? Also i can't see there being a problem with conflicts within Dark Brotherhood, as said i'm 4 (?) levels into fighters guild and joined the dark brotherhood with no problem and none of the quest so far have caused a problem.

I'm a guardian atm in the guild. I can't recall if thats higher or lower then Soldier. Cheers for the info on joining the DB...I think it's time to kill that chap in the inn then :D

This is the well known bug that I have http://forums.xbox.com/3364806/ShowPost.aspx

In which case your 3 ranks ahead of me in FG :/ Is there anyway of avoiding the bug you have?
It depends...if you've visited that cave in the past, and from that thread I mentioned most of us had, then your quest will be broken :( Basically if you have a chance, you can save your game and make your way to that dungeon and see if you find a body at the southern most point of the dungeon. If its not there amongst a ton of bones and dead zombies, you're in for a long wait :(

~J~, yeah mate completed it (ta!) but then foolishly forgot that I need to oblivion gates opened in order to get the good armours from lv20 onwards, so I reverted to an older savegame instead. It gets so good Lv17+! :)

I started a new game a few days ago (thanks to the annoying levelling sytem making my enemies untouchable), and I've had some problems with some magic spells I bought. I got a load in Bruma, and after buying them and leaving the mages guild, I checked my spells list, and only some of them have shown up there. For instance, the summon skeleton spell is there, but I bought a soul trap spell, and it's not in my list, and when I go back to the mage who sells them, she hasn't got it available to buy any more.

Have I hit a bug or am I missing something obvious?
Nobody got any clue with this? I'm guessing it's just a bug then.

Where can I get the next soul trap spell up from the basic one then, anyone know?

Sell one to a merchant anywhere in a town and you'll be visited by a chap on behalf of a collector from Imperial City. Pay him a visit and he tells you that he'll pay top dollar for any further statues you find. I haven't found any more yet. :(

Ahh cool thanks, i will get cracking :)

Damn I am getting more and more engrossed with this game now.

I am now the arena grand champion (cheers). and I have started on the actual storyline. (got the 4 books).

I 'was' getting a bit bored but now I have got back into it.

I kind of wished I hadn't *accidently* killed the dark brotherhood bloke lol. Ah well if anyone is interested his cape and hood offer some excellent bonuses. :)

They certainly have the more "o you can't be serious" (in an evil tone) kinda quests.

Read my post at the top of page 14 for a description of Soul Gems and how you use them :)

Just use the bow a lot. It's easier when you're sneaking around as you can get a bit closer to you enemy to shoot him. Fire one arrow off for extra damage, he'll get hit and run for you, then put at least one more in him while he closes the distance. Switch to your melee weapon for when he's right on top of you. My marksmenship is over 50 now without having it trained once.

You really can play it your way. Follow the main quest line, or just wander from town to town talking to people and doing random quests. I'm about 40 hours in and I've only done 2 extra parts of the main quest to you.

Well this is getting good now hehe. Up to level 6. Im a little better at sowrd fighting and marksmanship

Joined the family :D got sum sweet armour and a blade of woe (attack = 0 ??)

Got lots of money by helping this total nutter murder sum people. (though i found it absolutely impossible to murder them and get out of the house *without* the Watch/Guard catching me and forcing me to pay a fine) (btw - murder is quite cheap in this game 80 gp for a life? lol)

Got to Kvatch and wow... excellent graphics. Ever time im out on the horse in the countryside its like the graphics get better and better (almost **** me pants when the sky turned red lol)

Great, great game....the love for it just gets ever stronger!

It has a weight of 0 iirc and attack of 4 :)

You can buy a better one from the guy in the Brotherhood sanctuary quite cheap, attack of 7 i think. I find it quite easy to get in out places, but Argonians have their main power as 60s invisibility. Use that to get in, do the deed, then i cast a 30s invisibility spell to get out. Jobs a goodun.

Didnt realise there are so many gates.. ive played about 45 hours and only done the Kvatch one... Now im finding them all over the shop...

I too am looking for some extremely good heavy armour, must keep searching.. ive found some woman called Umbra and she seems to have a fullt set of Ebony.. but she is absolutely impossible to kill.. she kept saying before about some other rubbish so i attacked her.. starting to think she is a story character now.

Take a look at my recent post on this. I killed her quite easily at level 14 but I too am assuming it's part of a later quest so reloaded a game before it. At least I've sweeped the dungeon and know where she is - I'm training my light armour up so would only sell hers anyway! The Umbra sword can be used to collect souls though.
