Once you become an expert/master in Mercantile you can invest into business. The more you invest the more cash they will have available to you to buy your items with...
 
I just got to be arch mage after completing the mage guild quests.

Are you not supposed to get a fancy robe? I got the arch mage robe but it isnt magical or anything :mad:

I still want to wear my conjuror robe as that is better.

What did you get?

Meh, I was worried it was going to be something like that.... I don't see the point of having loads of kit worth 5,000 upwards when the most you can get is 1200. I'm at level 40 at the moment with 300,000 sitting in the bank - so its not like I really care about the gold anymore, I just figured there must be a way to sell stuff nearer the price it was labelled as. Seems a bit defeatist to me :\ Seems like the only way you can actually get anymore for your stuff is when you don't actually need the money anymore :confused:

Yeah, I completed the Mage guild last night too... I just got the poxy outfit. The damn scholars and students don't give you anymore respect when you talk to them either!! Damn arrogant scholars, I should turn them into snails for their insolence :D
 
Anyone had a problem with the Dark Brotherhood quest where you have to kill the elf Faelian?

I've got the lead on him & should be able to kill him in Lorkmir's house in the Imperial City. But he never shows up (even though his green locator marker is showing as being in the same room as me!!). :confused:

Anybody got any tips?

Im on this one atm, but ive not done anything about it yet, so not as far. That sounds like a bug though? unless hes cloaked?

Don't think he's cloaked - I've tried walking over where he 'should' be, even swung all over the place with my sword!!! :o :eek:

I'm thinking bug myself - but please post how you get on with it.

I had the same thing... so I went outside, waited till about midday - then went back inside and there he was. Ready to die :)

I think the green marker is pointing out where to do the deed - not where he is.

Have you thought that he may be a floor above or below you? I had no problems with that quest :)

Yep - tried all the floors in the building. I've eventually gone back to the Tiger Septim Hotel and am currently watching him & his missus sleeping through the door!!! :eek: (and I can tell you - there's no 'love' left in that marriage!) :D

I think you're right MF, I've met up with him now & he's arranged for me to go and meet him at the house - how convenient!! :)
 
having a little trouble with a thief quest. Ive got to steal the Archmages Magic staff from his very room at the Arcane University. Hes apparently asleep between 1 - 7 am so i figure ill put on the chameleon 25% ring and sneak in. But theres a dude in the room before him who always seems to be there and the archmage never sleeps!!! (if i manage to sneak past the first guy) My sneak is ok (bout 70)
So now im thinking to myself this isnt a straightforward sneak n grab mission lol.....Do i need to talk to some folk or cause a diversion somehow??? Its not smt to do with the necromancy thing and the archmage? Or am i assuming this is complex when its not lol

But yeah this is the first mission im stuck at.

that skeleton key is a cool find :D also adds about 45 to your security skill as well :D
