****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

If mine had a horrid whine, it would have been returned and swapped for another, regardless of what stance the e-tailer took.

Can OCUK please confirm their stance on pump whine. I reluctantly cancelled my pre order earlier this week after the various reports of issues and as far as im aware its still unclear who will or wont RMA.

Even worse we even have an AMD rep in this thread making very ambiguous remarks that arent helping one bit. Seriously AMD youre really making a mess of this launch.

I want one, i probably want 2. Stop peeing about(Amd). IF you are happy to RMA for excessive pump whine, then i'm happy to put an order back in.

From all the videos I've seen and even 1 Tweaktown posted the pump whine seems more to do with coil whine than anything else as it stopped immediately when they guy over at Tweaktown alt-tabbed out of game and from experience that has nothing to do with pumps.

Well every other vid has clearly indicated its the pump, even amd said this to reviewers.

Balony,as in its not an issue? I would say it very much is.
Indeed.

Mine was very loud & penetrating (though the case & clearly audible in the other room even) from boot, regardless as to the usage. It was directly from the card from what I could hear, not the fan or the radiator.

Same boat here, I'm trying to give AMD a chance here (still willing to consider after one RMA), how much of a break do they want me to give them :D, it's like they are trying to make me get a 980ti lol.

Considering how few owners we have in the thread (myself included) it's far more common than you are suggesting.

I've had to RMA mine, as have many others in the thread already.

Agreed, it's confusing as well because there has been no clarification of whether people with noisy pumps can RMA for replacement later on.

The retailer I bought from told me AMD stance atm is that pump noise isn't classed as a fault, so cannot RMA as faulty for repair later on.

That retailer told me to send the card back and they would refund me, that it was the best option rather than keep it and be uncertain if could replace later on.

So yeah some clarification from AMD would have been nice lol, out of pocket for postage and the hassle involved as well. Hardly fun for some of the first buyers.

AMD and Nvidia def bury their heads in the sand whenever an issue pops up. It's their own customers left with the problems..

Some of those tweak town benchmarks don't make much sense. If the TX is a slightly more powerfully card compared to the Ti then why is the TX losing on some of the benchmarks?

Exactly,

Is a direct response really too much to ask for?, many are not going to risk purchasing until this query is clearly resolved one way or another.

According to Roy taylor they've responded "several times" to questions on the pump.

Funny as i'm not seeing all these responses. They sent some waffle to reviewers before release day, besides that....

Yeah it's not asking much.

When your talking about £500+ products you would expect better communication from both main GPU company's. I.e Sony and MS wouldn't leave their customers hanging. Any problems I have had with their products they deal with awesomely, send you out a box send away your product comes back fixed or brand new.

Seems to be different rules in the GPU space.. The customer isn't quite as valued lol.

Maybe the lesson here is not to be an early adopter :D

I wonder if they have the nerve to pretend that the response is that they have "already fixed the pump problem" is this is true then they are a joke tbh.

I'm still awaiting something which classifies as remotely official on the matter, we should not be relying on conflicting hearsay from third party reviewers.

guess its like when your wife asks, did you take out the trash honey?
Of course I did...(hurry and gets them out)

a company isnt run with fast changes, its fixed which obviously is true as new pumps been sent out even before people bought them. and if you got one that make noise replace it and that shouldnt be an issue.

Hehehe, you may be right :D.

Well, we would need to know if the replacement would have another one of these pumps & as to if people may get charged fee's for it after the first 14 days (or postage costs).

The consumer should not be covering the costs of AMDs mess-up is the point. From what I've seen so far, I'm OK with my purchase - but others from other retailers are not so lucky (because AMD have not stated otherwise).

Wccftech just reporting what AMD are saying, you should have no trouble exchanging your card for the new revision.

These guys are having none of it though, these guys being OcUK, OcUK are not AMD.
