****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

Wccftech just reporting what AMD are saying, you should have no trouble exchanging your card for the new revision.

These guys are having none of it, these guys being OcUK, OcUK are not AMD.

Well gibbo needs to come in and clarify why he thinks they're in the right to refuse rma's when amd are the ones that said there was an issue with the pumps to begin with. I notice he's been pretty absent from this thread for a good while now. If other retailers are doing it then ocuk have to follow suit.

Well on my RMA I was told that they can't confirm for a replacement that it's a revised version (it's why I opted for a refund). Really they should be able to do a straight swap & I'd have gone for the Fury X if they could.

I asked for the refund in the standard 14 day return method (at a competitor that is).

Agreed, it's confusing as well because there has been no clarification of whether people with noisy pumps can RMA for replacement later on.

The retailer I bought from told me AMD stance atm is that pump noise isn't classed as a fault, so cannot RMA as faulty for repair later on.

That retailer told me to send the card back and they would refund me, that it was the best option rather than keep it and be uncertain if could replace later on.

So yeah some clarification from AMD would have been nice lol, out of pocket for postage and the hassle involved as well. Hardly fun for some of the first buyers.

AMD and Nvidia def bury their heads in the sand whenever an issue pops up. It's their own customers left with the problems..

Same boat here, I had no choice but to return them as I was told after 14 days they could do nothing regarding the pump noise, Every time I give AMD a chance they **** it up, why can they not simply release a statement?

Kitguru managed to get their hands on a card :p

Gets walloped of the 970 in Grid Autosport :D

Another thing that should be noted here is Kitguru got removed from AMD's GPU mailing list for making this cringeworthy video. http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/amd-fiji-hbm-and-product-rebadging/

Anyone who posted that video on their page winging about their AMD review list removal citing it as the reall reason for their falling out with AMD was banned from Kitguru and their Youtube channel.

WCCFTech posted a clarification today. All units produced since launch have been the revised ones (with new CM sticker on the block) .... it does rather make you wonder why they didn't delay the availability a few days to make sure all units were new ones (or old ones free of the problem).

All post-launch batches are revised ones. If you get an unrevised one now, it means it's secondhand ...

For the record, this is not true. Retailers have been receiving a few pieces here and there and so far many have been the unrevised version - can't say all of them since I wouldn't know but then again, have photos emerged of the revised edition spotted in the wild?

The revised one we are assuming have the new coolermaster logo on the pump block. Pcper bought a couple of xfx ones and they still had the old logo plus the pump whine.

That being said i'd guess that its not a certainty that all the uprated pumps have the new logo, but the more people that get them and check the more we can say one way or the other.

G1 destroys it so completely it's like it's a next-gen card :D :p

The G1 is possibly the best GPU ever made.

I said this before Fury X launch and my opinion hasn't changed lol.

Seriously considering that card after my RMA on Fury X is processed. Tbh not sure if I want to get another high end card just yet. I think we might see some price wars in the coming months, or extra incentives like better bundled games etc. Gonna wait and see what happens before next purchase. G1 is in my top considerations, if price comes down then that will be my number one choice.

That would be the 9700 PRO or 8800GTX in the last 12 years.
