*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

Don't return to vanilla. It's just like going to play our old map from vanilla, you log on for 5 seconds, nothing new, log off.
I would love to play on a LT vanilla map again!! It would also be great to have a deathmatch arena along with regular races, build contests, mob fights and PvP maps to keep people's interest up.

Have to agree with tostring, on vanilla once you've built a house and explored there aint much left to do without the mods, it's just a shame most aren't updated for 1.3 yet.

Not a huge amount in 1.3 over 1.2.5 though, tripwires are cool though.

Well 1.4 is due out on October 24th I believe so I'm guessing most of the mod makers are waiting for that rather than updating for 1.3. I would see it being a good month after 1.4 being released until you see any of the mods being suitable for SMP.

I like the mods but there's going to be point where you log in and have nothing to do anyway, it makes no difference whether it's vanilla or not. Mods just delay that lack of motivation. VOTE VANILLA

Think to be fair to the admins guys you have to give them time to get this working, they've put the effort into testing and setting it all up.

I'm playing vanilla and missing my solar panels :P

Quite a few of the mods on LT are compatible with 1.3.2 or have been updated already it's simply that a few key ones haven't been. FTB modpack has a list, many are used on LT I believe:

Status update

OK seems the issues are with some items being used on the main map like giant cobble gen factories and snow golem facturies.

Currently we have a clean map yet again.
But i am copying the map to my home server to see if i can fix it.
as there was a lot of work done on it and i would really hate to loose
all the hard work that was done on it.

I am reviewing ALL mod after i get this sorted. May remove some may add
some more likly to remove some. The logs dont show issues with mods
it is more how players are useing them and generationg way too much stuff
and not useing it.

The unoffical server has a good idea with regards to this and ranking
what do people think of a rank system on the server regards access to
diffrent tech and ablities? This is only an idea nothing solid but may help.

Status Update 2

Good news i manage to fix the map and bring it back online.
The suggestion of finding and deleting the regin file of Gregs house
worked and i can now say we have the map back in place for you all to enjout once more.

So going forward i am going to look at any lag issues over the night and
see if we can resolve any other issues if they come up.

Tostring Good news
I now have a copy of your build for you to put on the new map
base hight is at 108 so you need to find a nice big mountain :P

Nice! Thanks :)
I've marked out the highest mountain I've found, which isn't very high! So I'm ready to do a lot of landscaping...

I can come on now if you're doing it now?

Regarding cobblegen lag issues: there is some kind of redpower block that will automatically take in blocks and only spit them out in stacks of 64 which reduces lag loads.

also, is there some way of stopping the redpower timers and wires stuff acting as light sources? I know that creates a hell of a lot of lag

I'd love to come back if it was vanilla!
maybe just that mod that lets you set a home location you can TP to etc.

Be great on 1.3.2 still get freaked out that it auto-stacks blocks on the ground! :p

ah, its the regulators that can reduce the lag of the cobblegens. if you stick a regulator in at the end of each line of cobblegens they can clump the blocks to stacks of 64 then spit them all out at once. apparently it really works very well because even their sever gets a lot of lag from big cobblegens

Small change to client again to resolve a minor issue
Oh dear, I can't log in now :(

Downloaded client which appears to be still 3.2 ??? It requested a force update and downloaded a pile of stuff.

Now upon logging in, it says " Disconnected by Server, Outdated server!"

meh :o
