Running 1.3.2 on my own server for a couple of friends, it's nice but I do miss the Linktart mods :) just a shame 1.3 was such a huge change in terms of mod support - good for the long run though.

Pretty sure Yrth will be able to sort out the lag issues on LT though, think the way the maps are done is on the right track longer term too.

the biggest pita is that each of the 300 block breakers you have have an inbuilt storage so its irrelevant if you have a timer off or on the second a chest goes down they just spew out.

You were asked to reduce the block breakers and I had even shown you a way of reducing the amount of cobble in the pipes....

So why did you even turn it on.....
 
I think Yrth is the only one who has access to restart the server and hes away today. Plus FT is on his holidays so it won't be likely that it will be up until at least tomorrow I would have thought.
 
I have been trying to fix it... I don't think I would purposely take down the server. I believe the only way to fix it now is for me not to join and a mod wipe the cobble gen from existence. It was not a problem in the old map. I did remove the pipes to stop them pumping out cobble also, but it still is causing lag...

BTW, any of the excess cobble that was being pumped out was sent straight to a incinerator if it was not in use. Even without the timer, it was still pumping blocks to the incinerator

Ok decision time

We are willing to go back to vanilla if thats what you would like but it will mean no build moves and a fresh start for everyone on the plus side it will be 1.3.2.

we can do this in approx 1 hour and it will be a new map...........

The choice is yours.
 
Is there really no way to get the mod server going? I'd only like to see a return to vanilla if there's no other choice.
 
Don't return to vanilla. It's just like going to play our old map from vanilla, you log on for 5 seconds, nothing new, log off.

With all the mods, there is always something new to do/build and new things people have built for you to explore. Much more fun imo.



Edit; What about just Starting from scratch with mods? And just add one mod at a time and see how that goes, at-least it's a lot more fun, and you can always take away the last mod added if it starts to lag :-)
 
OK guys I will take a look at the server.
It is down now for me to work on it i cannot promise how long this will take as
many things are messy and the generators are messing things up.

cobble gens are out right baned as well as snow generators untill i can take a look at this
tbh i am very anoyed with all of this as myself and punky spend the guys of a full week to get this running in the first place. So this time i am adding some restrictions this time that will remove block in the map.
 
I know it must be a complicated task getting everything working and i dont understand a lot of it but if we started from scratch vanilla would it be so bad? ..... dont all jump on me at once :)
 
Playing on a vanilla map would be better than nothing. But like TW said, it would be like the last vanilla map we had.. after a while you just go on, have nothing to do, log out.

I'm sure it's possible to get this working, other servers do. We must just have too many mods, or one thats dodgy, or just people are using the machines/timers/redstone/etc selfishly (with or without realising).
