i think there must be something wrong with turtles because i've lost the entire contents of my turtle. i'm not overly fussed about the mats that it mined, but i;ve lost the enderchests again :(

Nuttyprot's NPSmooth is more up-to-date then the Sphax pack currently

I would say he has a good 75% of the mods covered and has all the major mods covered

Sphax on the other hand has a lot of WIP and i have noticed the shading on the add on packs is not accurate.

I have built both packs and tbh Nutty's is the more complete pack currently.

lol funny considering I am one person yet sphax is done by at least 4 that I know of and if that is the case that means I am now no2 most supported mods after faithful texture pack.. Also with regards to me retiring I may still put out the odd update just no way near as active as I once was.
 
The RedPower Miniblocks textures look weird because they do not support the Custom Colours feature. This can be disabled in the Video Settings.

No if you build the pack in sphax some of the base stone/ore colors are different.

+ you can get Thaumcraft 3 in Nuttys pack and not sphax same can be said of mystcraft sorta major mods... don't get me wrong they are there but are wip's.

Sphax does have a lot of the smaller mods covered but tbh without thaumcraft3 and mystcraft there is not much point in creating a sphax pack as yet.

Speaking of the faithful pack - RP2 is still PR5 on that pack so is useless because of gui overlays on the sorting machine another Diamond for you nutty (I have not tried the pack they may have updated but not the mod list)

speaking of GUI overlays i had the same problem with the linktart 1.2.5 sphax pack I built up. The railcraft texture pack I had to create from the latest one and an old pack as the coke furnace overlays were wrong for the current version we had, also the file structure layout had to be changed. Also in that pack the version of IC2 we had differed as the nano sabre's blade was missing so had to use an older version of the sprites sheet to complete it. In fact making a "sphax" pack is a bit of a pita.

As you said the other night Nutty playing on the server is gonna drive you mad as there will be bits and pieces with no textures :p I can see a nutty linktart pack in the pipeline... We will have to scan a pic of yrths face to put on the Zombies :p

when you say spells seem buggerd in what way?

you do know you cant learn them until you have at least a lv1 in ars magica skill
to get that you need xp and go to a infuser table i think it is called there is one in my house.

That looks an awful lot like Nebris's power plant in Mindcrack FTB. ;)
 
I found 1 really close to spawn. And you're right, ender eyes don't point you in the right direction.
I think the map was some how messed up near the start... As such you will also find random pockets of silverfish blocks no where near strongholds.

I'm going to try and update my mc to include minimap and i'll let you know the coords for the stronghold when I do

That was a new feature a few updates ago

Silverfish spawn from Monster Eggs and monster spawners, which are only found in strongholds and randomly underground in Extreme Hills biomes from silverfish blocks when broken. When spawning from monster spawners, they can only spawn in light level 11 or lower, except on top of stone blocks, where they can spawn at any light level. They also cannot spawn within a 5 block distance of any player. These restrictions only apply when spawning from a monster spawner, and not from a Silverfish block.

it was showing me the wrong combination of runes. oddly after a going back to it a few hours later it was showing the correct runes, but they werent the recipe i was expecting (firebolt was one purple rune, arcane bolt was one red rune). i was level 7 or 8 in ars magica when i tried to write the spells so that wasnt the problem.

i think i'll wait for someone to get some different textures or something on the spell writing table because it is impossible to see how to write those spells. i was resorting to enhancing a screenshot of the table in gimp to try and work out what the spell was and even that didnt work
