** Official omg I just got my 5870 thread **

Nope it's GT200B cores in the 295 same as the 285 I just read.

And it's the GT200b in the GTX260 and the GTX275 as well. The GTX295 is a pair of GTX275s with lowered clocks.

It has the same number of shaders per GPU as the GTX285 and GTX275, but the memory interface of the GTX260 and GTX275. Therefore it's considered to be a pair of underclocked GTX275s.

The MARS edition however is a pair of GTX285s

Ah, interesting - I never knew that. Ta :)

Rancid Elf - Dr Raith suggests you are looking a bit pale and should go home early; I think you might have a non-specific one day virus. ;)

You got wow set to use all cores?

Daz- WoW is CPU limited as much as GPU limited; the I7s just work better with it. The core engine of the game is almost a decade old, and offsets a lot of work a modern game would do on the GPU, to the CPU.

No doubt your 5870 will run faster; but WoW wont show its potential :)

@TomNBK - The latest expansion is much harder on your graphics card than the game used to be; it does actually require a decent GPU to get the most of nowadays, at least on high settings.

Got to say it is huge, biggest card I have every owned. Weighs a ton also.

I think we will see the odd person disappointed today when they find the card doesnt fit their case.

Once I get it setup I'll do a comparison to the 4870 512MB on crysis 1920x1080 veryhigh no AA, wont be until lunchtime though.

Yes m8 i totaly agree with u. when i used my 285 gtx with shadows turned up full it struggled. but this card seems to love it. but like i said soon as my dongle comes want to bench games on 3 screens to just see what this card compares like to a 285 gtx under 5040x1050 resolution. was running sli on my gtx. but soon as xfire is sorted under multi screens ill wait till then for another card.
