well i did a test with my 8500 and my 260 gtx and got a score of p13000
so did a test with the 8500 and the 5850 and got a score of p10480
so im getting better results with a 260gtx than i am with the 5850 cant work it out surely the 8500 at 4.0ghz cant be bottlenecking the card

Something wrong there. My 5850 at stock gets P15000 and overclocked gets P19000 albeit with my q9650 which shouldn;t add much to Vantage unlike 3dmark06. Also my gtx260 used to score around your score at stock speeds so that looks okay.

Whats your graphics score as opposed to your total score to remove your cpu from the equation?

I suspect there must be some driver issue going on here.

Started to have boot issues with my Gigabyte 5850, All the fans come on i can hear the HD spin up but i dont get a post beep and it wont boot.

If i turn it on and ff a few time i can get it to start then it runs fine no crashes or issues no matter how long its runing or what im doing!

I have a gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 (rev. 2.0) motherboard and a jeantech storm 700w psu. Cant see it being the psu as it runs fine once its going.

Sunderland:

Here was my overclocked gtx260 216 score:

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1065955

Graphics score 11853

Here is my slightly overclocked 5850 (1000/1250 from memory):

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1485555

Graphics score 15001

Now looking at the details your framerates aren't that far off and a lot of difference will be from my 5850 been overclocked.

However your cpu scores look very poor (although I don't know how much difference my quad makes to vantage scores)

Also make sure you run your gtx260 without physx for a fair comparison to the 5850.

Also makes sure you have CCC set to performance and everything application controlled before running Vantage.

Are the 9.11s the ones that are named 'opencl beta' or something like that?

I think I'll give them another try (had res problems with them before) as there's definitely something odd going on with these cards and drivers. Last night, after exiting a game, it switched to 1080i 30hz 16-bit!! I didn't realise at first and spent ages trying to work out why aero wasn't working.
