Fair enough, it's not totally unplayable :)

Anyone got an outfit on miller as TR? I'm gagging for some organised fighting. I've been the lone wolf all the way through beta and release :(

I'm in Outcasters on miller which is well organized and one of the oldest and lagest TR Outfits. Hop onto the forum and put in an application. Website here

I have a question before i spend the certify. On my Infiltrator i have the medkit utility done and now i want to spend some on claymores. Does anyone know if you can have both claymores and medkits equip at the same time?

I don't think so, it forced me to drop the med kit to equip C4 on Light Assault so i imagine it will be the same for Infiltrator.

According to the wiki the medical kit is in the first aid certs and the claymores are in their own explosives category. The same should be true for light assault... maybe its really out of date.

I can see that this game has serious longevity already, but it really needs to mature for a while before it will get really good.

Most people are running around like headless chickens at the monent and it will slowly dawn on (some) people the importance and enjoyment of being in an organised outfit with good attack / defence plans. I think half of the people currently gaming on it will get bored soon and go back to something more easily rewarding.

So, I will continue myself to run round like a headless chicken until I find a good outfit. :D

I have some station points left over from the alpha squad ... around 950, what would you spend this on?. I have so far got a new light assault weapon, the mini chain gun

What sniper weapon is the best?

Sam

SR-7 is the best TR bolt action

No then theres nothing you can do to help CPU limiting at the moment, setting the graphics lower offloads more work from the GPU to the CPU so bizzarely if you have a good graphics card lower settings are slower! Since your running with high settings your just going to have to wait for them to optimize it. My old 4Ghz i5 750 is CPU limiting whilst sat at 50% load so theres obviously plenty of mileage for them in optimization.

Hmm cpu is my bottleneck most of the time, that's a bit reassuring, i sometimes hit <30 fps with i5, everything set to low, and shadows set to 0 in ini

Couple of questions;

How do you spawn as the big mechanised infantry guy?

The respawn map keeps changing my default spawn away from where i last spawned, is that a bug?

Sometimes those blue teleporter pad things that propel you around the base don't work, is that a bug?

EDIT:: Just wanted to add that popping in and out of cover works resonably well in this game. Very rare to loose 1v1 if you have cover available. It's still a bit laggy at times but nothing close to as bad as BF3.

The big mechanised guy is called the MAX, you can swap to it from infantry equipment terminals.

Not come across that issue with the default spawn myself. I'd imagine it always shows the nearest spawn to where you died?

Sometimes you spawn with what appears to be 0hp, when you do such things don't work. Being healed or taking damage fixes this and lets you use them again. Also if I remember in the end of beta there were a couple on some bases that just didn't work, regardless, don't know if that is still the case as I haven't come across any since launch.

Go for the air 2 ground weapons, they cost a lot of creds but the same amount of money as other unlock cost.

Just from what I've seen so far I still think paying gives an advantage, if two new players start at the same time one who pays & one who does not, the one who pays will have access to more certs straight off the bat & much quicker progress if that is not an advantage I don't know what is, the certs include better armour & shields meaning if I come up against a subscriber in say a base defense 1 on 1 which happens they have an advantage, so it's not an even playing field when skill or quick reflexes can be over come by better equipment! maybe over time my view will change but it's my opinion at the moment, the game is fantastic but this is a black mark against it IMO.

Why don't you buy a bit of stuff to support the devs? They do need supporting for the game to flourish?

The MCG is a heavy assault weapon. I got it and havent used it since they nerfed it by 12% at launch.

I would suggest trialling weapons to see which one you like. Go to unlock then before you buy theres a trial option. You can trial 1 wep for 30 minutes every 24 hours or some rubbish so choose carefully.

The AA burster for the Max is ok but dont expect to do much more than move aircraft on, even with two. Heavy nerf as well.

Sniper weapons, lots seem to be using the M77 or something77. Not a sniper so no idea why.

As you got alha squad you have a good set of extra guns already. The heavy assault TMG50 or whatever is great. The bolt action sniper is too. Id build up some certs and start adding stuff.

You spawn close to where you died, but with quite a large radius.

The teleporter thing is a bug, resupply at your sunderer or infantry terminal to fix.

I know it sounds sad but my outfit just did a drill to practice deploying our sunderers and quickly switching between AV and AA infantry squads.

Then put it into practice by taking a reasonably well defended base. Must have got 20 lib/reaver kills, a loaded galaxy and a bunch of tanks in about 15 minutes :)

M77 is widely used because its cheaper and was the gun that came in the infantry starter pack. In the game stats it looks slightly better than the SR-7 because of the higher reload speed but from the data mined spreadsheet floating around you can see that the SR-7 has a higher muzzle velocity (less drop and you don't need to lead targets as much) and also re-chambers rounds faster. The actual clip reload speed is pretty worthless on a bolt action. The damage per shot is exactly the same so there really isn't a lot in it.
