*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Well, after a few hours of waiting for the EU servers to come back up we got bored... so, we jumped onto US East coast Waterson, and created some Spandex characters (our outfit is NC so we found this hilarious)... and spent more time laughing at each other and the outfits, than actually playing. The VS weapons are pretty nice to use that's for sure, and the scythe is rather epic.

On the downside.. I'd forgotten how utterly terrible the level one medic tool is. I died more times trying to res and heal people because it was taking so long that anything else. Not having an AMS sundy, or even a squadleader beacon was a pain in the butt!

I did something similar a few weeks back when Woodman was down, logged on to Miller and created a Vanu toon. It dumped me straight into instant action, so I'm standing there configuring my movement keys. A vanu player runs up to me, looks at me for a few seconds, and shoots me in the face.

I think he knew :p

I have all my graphics settings maxed and it runs fine. But it doesn't look as good on my machine as a friend with settings on medium :/.

Am I going wrong somewhere?

lol, I encountered my first NC character (I'm normally NC, but was playing VS) and had a two second delay before reacting... but by that time.. it was already too late lol.

Also.. shotguns... I ******* hate shotguns. (made worse with the UK to USA lag lol)

Telling us the spec of you friends machine and your's will help. Also, have you turned on the ultra textures yet? (set the useroptions.ini file file texturequality setting to "0" (Zero).

LOL! classic.

Just got a little over 5000xp for attempting to capture Indar, we held about 51% when the clock finished ticking. Was tense towards the end and adds an interesting new angle on the game. Felt a bit sorry for VS who were a fair bit under our pop levels, but at least they still got a fairly decent slice of the XP pie.

haha Im a VS guessing i was on your server for this as it sounds like the story. we held for abit but the population needs sorting as we were so under numbered! felt like NC and TR were just fighting us and not each other.

Sorry, I forgot that I took the specs out of my sig!

Friend has the same except for a 7950.

Going to try the Ultra Textures now though

Quite liking the new alert system (which will be expanded upon) and the new badges/awards etc.

Still think this game is absolutely stunning.

It is, I still get some wow moments at times. Once you get into it and know what you're doing it becomes really enjoyable, you just gotta stick out the learning curve.

Accuracy in this game is terrible, very terrible. I literally facepalm everytime I shoot someone with my TMG-50 from a medium to long distance and see each bullet go all over the place like it was a shotgun even when firing in bursts.

Honestly wish my TMG-50 acted like it did in VR, had no trouble hitting things there with small bullet groupings, where you aimed, you hit. Be nice if they just copied the weapon accuracies settings from weapons from BFBC2/BF3.

Not had any problem with this, my battle rifle shots go where I put them up to long range - past there I expect there to be some deviation. I'd expect a machine-gun to not be overly accurate at long range.

My first thought is RAM on your Graphics card, how much?

My second is that perhaps he can run more AA/AF or something?

Not had any issues particularly.

Nice win from TR yesterday on Woodman (well, very early this morning) of the Indar domination alert! Some epic battles were had, the Crown was being heavily contested by all sides for the entire 2 hour time limit of the alert, and even longer before and after that - still, we couldn't displace the VS from there; they were dug in deep.

Indeed, I have already had some of the most epic battles on PlanetSide 2 than in any other game I have played. For example, on Woodman yesterday in Esamir there was a huge battle for Aurora Materials Lab that lasted for hours :D

There is no other game even remotely comparable to the scale of PS2. It's unique.

Yeah, that's what keeps bringing me back, there is no other game like it but I bet DICE could give them a run for their money if they decided to go bigger.

I did really well today with my Prowler in Esmair when NC gatelocked us, there was so many vehicles to shoot I found that I was running out of ammo in about a minute or two. Made like 50-60 certs in about 45 minutes, now that the tank rocking has been fixed, I can fire both barrels really fast again.

Kinda stuck to what to spend on my certs on, I was saving up for level 6 for my Medic Tool but I would love to spend some certs on increasing my ammo for my Prowler, just a few levels short of maxing that. I'm also drawn to buying the 2.0 scope for my HEAT cannon, currently use 1.75 scope when I know there is going to be lots of vehicles or infantry to kill and I don't need to move much.

The Medic Tool level 6 and the 2.0 scope is both 500 certs, while I have 320 so saved, think in the end I stick to my plan and max my Medic Tool. I'm currently playing that a lot now and enjoying reviving people, getting 100-200XP per revive and is more supportive to the team then something as personal as a scope upgrade.
