I was using the CARV with the forward grip and a scope. I demoed the chain gun and its decent but 1000 cert points is way too expensive, and is it me or there seems to be few sales on weapons now??

Anyway,I bought the MSW-R and its great!! :) Its more accurate and I seem to be able to take down some of the higher level chaps quicker now, especially with the Soft Point ammo. According to the stats I am 50% to 60% more accurate with the new weapon. Thanks!!

I still need a suggestion for an accurate long range weapon, since the CARV and MSW-R are not that great at longer range,ie,when people are firing from concealed positions at the top of canyons, etc.

Any suggestions for a weapon which is good??

Glad it suited your playstyle, I love the MSW. For long range I use the TMG-50 with 4X scope, compensator, fore grip and HV ammo.

The TR LMGs are pretty weak at range though, the TMG50 is the only 167 damage weapon iirc and since it was slightly nerfed it hasn't been as good as say the SVA-88 (VS) or Gauss Saw (NC) but for me personally it's the only option for mid>long.

The NC SAW whilst powerful, is slow, and has bad recoil. The lower damage EM6 is much more controllable, but is terrible up close due to bad hip fire. (I always get owned up close by shotguns and SMG's :-() p.s. don't buy a shotgun if you have bad frame rate.

The TR mini-chaingun is hilarious. Maybe not the most effective, but I loved using it during the build-up to the PTS game :-D

I love the SAW. Get the grips and compensator plus high velocity rounds and its hell of a weapon at mid range and even useful for sniping at long range if your target is stupid enough not to find cover. I often come out on top at close quarters too.

What's considered the best weapon for NC engineer? I find the stock gun okay but have certs to spend and not sure what on

I use the Gauss Compact S more than any other on my engineer. I use it with 2X scope or 6X scope for spotting ling distance with the AV turret, yes I abuse the out of rendering :( issue with the turrets.

I will typically run with smoke UBGL and compensator or supressor (big fan of supressors).

I run level 4 utility pouch with 4 stick of C4 or 5 AT mines, flank enemy sunderers, smoke it to hide my approach and to hide me while I plant C4 or AT mines then detonate them with a sticky nade or by firing.

But the Compact S is so versatile, has a lot of options, lacks only in close against the TR/VS high ROF weapons.

In fact, it is probably one of my favorite weapons, simply for how accurate it is.

I'll give it a go. Played Heavy to death and get a strange satisfaction of running around supporting people. Recently bought some c4 but not really had a chance to test it out yet.

Depending on the situation I use the Gauss Compact S (if I think nade launcher or smoke will be useful), Razor GD-23 (medium range fights) or GD-7F or a shotgun (close range). Its really a case of what situation do you find yourself in most often.

So my outfit has decided to spice things up every so often like 2 weeks to a month by playing VS also on Miller just to get a feel of what's its like and to search and destroy other outfits.

First hour or two playing together and I found the Orion so easy to use, it's flipping miles better then the Carv and I wasn't the only one commenting how easy it was to use like the other VS infantry weapons. The accuracy of it is amazing, the reload speed is epic and the recoil is so easy to control when firing at a close to medium target. On top of the fact that someone found out that one of the scopes you can add doesn't have the weird hit bug that everyone else has is also pretty unfair. I play better and kill more with uncerted VS weapons and a uncerted VS Heavy then I do with my fully maxed and certed TR Heavy.

I miss my maxed out Medic tools when playing VS, trying to revive and heal someone is painful and honestly can't stand trying to play it.

Always said VS had better weapons.

Is it true that the flak armour is now going to mitigate some non-blast damage for TR soldiers??

I might get the TMG50 then. Thanks.

BTW,it does seem the other factions have better weapons!! :(

Trust me, everyone thinks this regardless of the faction they play. In some cases it is true for example the Vulcan is just outright the best vehicle secondary, the ZOE is the best Max ability, the Striker is the best empire specific rocket launcher etc but this largely comes down to their versatility compared to what the other 2 factions get in those slots, which is poor design more than anything.

But apart from 2-3 examples per faction in specific areas like those examples, it isn't the case that one faction has significantly better weapons, it's just grass is greener by all concerned really.

One of the guys in my outfit runs with a dedicated 780 and a secondary card as a physx card and he says it never crashes (lucky git!!!)

I seem to have the game crash after a few hours although I think I have PhysX switched off for the game. It does seem to be more of a memory leak issue and I have 8GB of RAM!!

Hi any idea what card he is using for the dedicated physx?

I'll try and remember who it was and ask :-)

A dedicated physx card does nothing so duno why he says hes using one like that especially with a 780 card.

Well obviously it doens't crash the game, so I beg to differ! :-P

Game is crashing often for me now since last few patches :-( (No physx)
