*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

PhysX crashing for some and not for others has nothing to do with dedicated cards. I know people who can run PhysX fine with no dedicated card whereas it crashes for others and vice versa.

Totally loving it in INI Elite, was the best choice I made in my Planetside 2 career.

The world domination series has breathed new life in TR I think, we are totally rocking the event.

Totally loving ruining Killbill's day. Guy is a totally obnoxious loner, he's a definite KOS (he's enemy faction so that's ok.. I don't do TK'ing). In fact... a fair few of the BR100's are completely socially incapable and butt hurt with disgusting 'tell's' they send.

Totally different experience with people like ChickenCurrys who is just a good laugh (I'm NC, he's VS), and we have much banter when we see him

Can't remember if I said... but was a vanguard driver the other night, with a friend and had an absolute riot. I killed so many scythe's with the main AP Cannon it was silly. Only the smart one's who could rocket pod from almost directly above survived generally speaking.

I've had some mixed experiences with ChickenCurrys as well as some of the other higher-ups at KOTV. Certain situations seem to bring out a lot of aggression from them. Stuff like being told to "Get the funk to Hvar or funk off out of this outfit!", but obviously ruder... I don't think it's a good thing to only have one enormous outfit for a given faction. There's really no other option for VS on Woodman.

I have fun with them, mostly. Their Outfit-only platoons are fine but their public platoons inevitably turn into ghost-capping sessions with absolutely no resistance, which some people seem to really enjoy.

What bugs me the most is when certain high BR guys shout over proximity stuff like "Too many snipers. Buy an SMG, noobs!" etc. People seem to forget to have fun!

So INI Elite and Mercs from NC did a other VS Op together last night.

We pretty much won the alert for the VS by ourselves and getting hate from TR for it with threats that they will kill us on sight on our TR characters. :)

I certed ZOE Max level 1 and am just gob smacked how god mode it is and I only have default weapons without any armour upgrades. Have it enabled and I can just steam roll anyone and groups of enemy players, it's insane. What's more funny is that even the NC players was saying the same thing when they was using it, at times I saw that I was pretty players as soon as I fired at them. Might spend some money on the VS character to unlock some decent weapons.

So, am going to be spending my certs into three things for my VS Alt, NW5 for my Heavy, KA5 for my Max and maxing up ZOE mode. I'm not going to play my VS character that much so have to specialised the two class's that I play the most.

First off I love BF2, haven't played any of the later ones, but after playing PS2 for so long I heard something on a stream that tickled me.

One guy was defending a flag and on VOIP to his 3 other squad mates calling for backup, something along the lines of :

"Get to D! There's loads of them attacking"

He kills one and dies and so calls out to his friends

"Over by the building there's loads coming"

Turns out there were 3 of them :)

Now don't get me wrong, Battlefield is a decent game and I don't judge people when playing other games, but it simply tickled me that he was calling out for support quoting "There's loads of them" for 3 people.

I guess I'm too used to Planetside now when attacking/defending against multiple platoons/squads, and while Planetside does sorely lack an overall goal/integrated continent system, the sheer scale still makes it an FPS without equal, and with the optimisations, hopefully they can substantially improve performance and move back onto content/mechanics.

I have noticed how Battlefield 4 has some of the best audio I've heard. If the TR had weapons that sounded like some of the machine guns/rifles then I bet even more would join them :)

Yeh I have to agree. I have been playing the BF4 beta and while it is good, nice audio and destruction Planetside 2 has just spoiled me in terms of battle scale. I am nearly BR100 on PS2 and cannot wait for the optimization patch. I was honestly looking forward to BF4 for some large scale action and a bit of a break from PS2, but going from a 5 man squad in BF4 from a 48 man platoon in PS2 is difficult.

!

KOTV (Keepers of the Void) is an excellent outift and great fun to play in. Never had any experience of anything bad - and I've been playing in KOTV platoons for a LONG time.

The good thing about having 1 large faction outfit is that KOTV can field sometimes 4 full platoons. These are then coordinated by good leadership and generally go where they are told to go.

With a big outfit you get guaranteed people to play with, well run platoons, and the advantage of always having back-up!

I would advise any Vanu on Woodman to join KOTV - particularly the new/middle-aged players who might be looking for some more fun!

+1 for KOTV, I haven't played PS2 properly in a month or so now but no matter what time I would go on they'd have some organised squads or platoons up.

I'm waiting for the optimization patch before getting back into it.

Have a look around, don't automatically jump for KOTV (but it's a good base).

Recently being getting into flying much more, and driving vanguards. Really has rejuvenated me a bit for the game. Very much looking forward to the optimisation patch, and hope I haven't sold my kit before I get to give it a go (I haven't got long left before I leave for the states).

p.s. Liberator is my fun thing at the moment, and ruining ESF's day is a particular penchant of mine :-D (As long as I have a decent gunner). Though if I find myself up against people like Sato or PacerMakerBug... I'm in serious trouble.

I (My outfit) INI Elite had a 24 vs 24 battle with KOTV on Nexus few weeks ago, which is going to be shown on the Planetside 2 EU Warpgate show soon.

They got taught what tactical superiority is really about to put it lightly.

Guys, don't get me wrong, I love the guys at KOTV! I'm often in their TS and all of my best Alerts have been with them. (Was anyone on last Thursday evening? The most incredible win we've ever had... seriously, unbeliveable!)

The vast majority of their squad/platoon leaders are nice guys, friendly and helpful. It's just their higher-ups that are less than polite, usually.

Seems lately that a lot of the best pilots of other factions are just joining a small crew of Vanu and flying around random bases at high altitude trying to bait players to attack them. They general form no actual function on the battle field and seem just to be having fun. (Most of them are BR100's).

I highly recommend getting a load of A2A missiles for this situation and stay out of their range (they only really use their main gun).

Thing is you can never stay out of range unless you are also in a large Air Wing. Whenever I fly in a big Air Wing to clear out the skies, I like to act as the sniper firing off Missiles while everyone else dogfights with their main guns, but quite often, you are wasting missiles since the enemy EFS's die so fast to so many friendies targeting one at a time, Liberators and Galaxies are fair game to you though. :D

In 1 on 1, using A2M normally gets you killed unless the first missile hits and he doesn't flare.
