Massive increase in FPS on test server. Big fight on the crown, easily 200 players and didn't drop below 55fps, mostly 60-90. Completely different experience, they really nailed it and now I don't need to buy BF4.

This is the reason I cannot take Battlefield seriously anymore, just look how many players there are in this scene on Miller server.

It's not often you get a fully glorious foot battle like that, but when it happens... OMG. So much going on, if you have a decent system and have got the hang of a) shooting well and b) not getting shot (it comes with time, kinda like learning the ropes on counter strike) it becomes a truely amazing game.

Bonus being it's free.

I actually realise I'm starting to sound like a paid shill or something now :p This is pretty much my go-to game though when I have time on my hands.
 
Decent performance boost for me on the test server but apart from that pretty much everything else they've changed (Bio labs and UI especially) is awful.
 
The UI/Base changes are not part of the OMFG patch - it's just what they put on the test server (i.e. on top of some other things they were already trying out) - the OMFG patch wont go live with those other incidental changes.

Every part of this game is getting looked into to give you better performance and having stupid looking wave HP/Shield bars instead of blocks surely gives better performance I guess.

As I understand it, the OMFG may in fact implement some of these things, but others are in there for other reasons, not particularly related to the OMFG patch.
 
Saw ironwarrior said yesturday average fps increase of around 10-15fps for people.

Anyone here with a spec around teh same as me tried it yet?

If so what kinda increase did you get. On the main server no matter what settings i have a Zerg drops me down to 30-40fps I'm normally playing with the settings as high as possible. But have to drop a few things down to medium at peaks times or big scale battles become a slide show.

Has this now been fixed ? Has its the min frame a second increase im intrested in. The Average and Max dont matter to much as I can 60fps the game np its the Zerg that kills my performance.
 
Have been playing by myself rather than with my outfit lately since I'm on a dual core athlon and GT 210 (FPS ranges from 0 (yes really) to 40... but normally about 10 fps lol. So I just go and play in quiet area's as anything more than one of two guys and my fps gets killed due to the weak CPU.

I decided to give my Dad's i2500k with on-chip graphics a go for a laugh. It actually plays at least twice (if not three times) as good as my crappy backup PC and is smooth. It's all about the CPU with this game (we all know that, but it proved a point).
 
Hey some of us like being the underdogs without the overpowered Weapons and the team stacking.;)

Its got to get boring rolling over base after base with your 20% extra pop and stupidly overpowered weapons. :D

TR on Miller has to be the most boring thing ever, steam roll with zerg.

Only weapon that is closely overpowered is the Maraduar, so other then that, I don't know what you are talking about.

What only close to Overpowered :rolleyes: Compared to the Vanu and TR weapons almost everything we have gets outclassed. Some stuff is close but it seems we get the bum deal on everything. All that adds up.
Our Max is next to useless. Most of our weapons fire far to slow for CQC, Our ESF is the worst of the 3. You have a Vulcan of Death.

We have ? O yer a shield on our Tank.What was i ever thinking no its all balanced. Nothing to see here carry on.

You have the some of the best weapons in the game.

You have the God Saw which is hands down one of the best defaults, it's high damage, high magazine and controllable recoil is awesome and whenever I used it, I never had a problem dropping players, it tears though guys. On top of that, it's got the high damage for shooting flashes, buggies and ESF's that can make them go pop faster then you expect when used in mass.

Next is the Bolt-Action sniper you don't have to pay for, then you have the TV Guided Sniper Rifle which might be short ranged and for good reason but it makes using vehicles within it's range not a happy experience since it forces you to retreat especially within range of the spawn room.

You have the best Rotary on the ESF which gibs other ESF's if you let it hit you once or twice, if you managed to let it hit you just once, you already lost over 50% to 75% of your health.

You have the fastest afterburner so getting close to other ESF's isn't a problem for you which allows you to sneak up on a player and shoot him in a blink of a eye and even if you do hear the whine of it's engines, flying away is almost impossible, since your afterburner allows you to keep up with him. Only time it's possible to escape is when you spot them first at a short distance away and even then it's touch and go.

Vanguards, the true tank of PS2. It's cannon does more damage then the other tanks and add a Helbred or the Enforcer makes it deadly in a 1 on 1 engagement. On top of that, you have a I WIN shield that can be used twice in a row. I wonder when they will fix that exploit.

Let's go into the Enforcer, it has a large magazine, it's long range and pretty damn accurate which is more scary then the main cannon itself since it will eat half of your health.

Vulcan is deadly for sure, but only at close range. You can think of it as Remote C4. You let it get close to you and you will suffer for it. In most engagements against other buggies that are using Helbreds or Enforcers, they will win against the Buggy since these weapons are more accurate on a move and have a longer range.

Trying to shoot a other buggy with a Vulcan when traveling at high speed over bumps and doing turns around objects is not easy, your "fire" goes everywhere while the Helbred or Enforcer just needs to time his shot when he is stable for that "second" The Vulcan is a Ambush weapon in the end.

Max suits, you have the second best max in the game which kills anyone and TR Maxs 1 on 1 with ease or are you saying Shotguns that instantly kill you are bad?

You complain about range but range is overrated when you are holding A, B, C and D point. You don't need range to shoot some poor ******* who is running up the stairs in a double building or going though a door.

Sure, TR Maxs can stay back and just shoot at you, but that wouldn't be clearing the point and turning the point to our faction. You have to get close and if you get close, you will die unless you got a squad with you and even then, you still going to die.

TR Maxs are underperforming and Higby has said that a long time ago on Twitter when he promised that a TR Max buff was coming which seems to had been forgotton due to the OMFG update.

Anyway, ZOE Maxs are more OP'ed then anything else in the game.

Best Tank Vanguard. Yup. IF you know how to use it.

The TR Max has come along way though, and the NC suffered a horrendous nerf to shotguns that means 1 on 1 vs enemy maxes they often do come out worse.

You go on about the Vulcan, I've used it, and it's freaking awesome. I wish I could use it on my NC harasser. Harassers ARE hit and run, that's how they survive (missiles rarely hit etc, and engy ability... they are sooo hard to kill). What the halberd is, is brilliant against tanks. Trying to hit a harasser with it that's running away is VERY difficult and takes skill.

NC ESF. It's good, but the mossie is awesome, and I wish I had the open canopy of the scythe. I would say the ESF's are relatively balanced, if you think the NC's is OP you are mistaken.

TV Guided missiles: Notice how people rarely use the Phoenix anymore? The thrill died off. They aren't that good as they take a long time to target, and to reload. You could have fired of two other missiles in that time. They have their place. Look at the Vanu sniper launcher.. if used correctly it can be deadly.... look at the TR striker... killing targets in cover for months and months.

Most of the complaints are based around having to use different tactics per faction. If people don't like the tactics you need to use to be effective, then consider another faction. There are some imbalances but not as many as people make out, it's mostly down to population count and zerging now. (unfortunateley).
