To be fair one great leader can make a huge difference to the success of an outfit, and if they are also using cheats then the difference they make will be even larger. An outfit on Woodman called [KOTV] (VS) used to be hugely successful due to their leader "ChickenCurrys", now that Currys has left the game for a while they are floundering around not knowing what to do and where to attack during an alert, which is in huge contrast to the alerts when Currys was online; we (the VS) won essentially every alert when he was around.

Just imagine if he also used cheats, that would've made even more of a difference to the success of KOTV. The same principle could be applied to The Enclave with BuzzCutPsycho on Mattherson (I'm sure you've heard of them), fact is that a great leader makes a big difference to the outfits' success, a great leader with cheats makes a huge difference.

This is rubbish, I'm in KOTV and though ChickenCurrys is missed we have plenty of leaders of his calibre. I can't remember losing an alert when Viveldop has been on for example.

Yeah give the INI guys some slack... I mean Pella played a lot, but id say around 30-40% of the time he wasnt on leading... you had Raumance, Furosius, Merrin iirc all doing the job and we did just as well with or without Pella.

No one is defending Pella, but if for example I was in a bio lab rounding a corner... Pella wasnt saying to me "Mehuk get ready to fire etc" it would be me getting on with it as I saw it in game, either killing or getting killed.

Anyway I can see it from the other side of view as well, as you probably have died at the hands of Pella and thats cheating you out of a gaming experience, which is out of order.

Still say hello if you see me on, im solo and getting raped accordingly :D

You're right of course but I hope you can appreciate how it could look to someone from the outside. He was a vocal and prominent player TR side, very often platoon leader for his outfit and that outfit was/is thought of as one of the best with him trumpeting this everywhere too. On top of this he was a cheater.

Nobody reasonable is saying 'omg INI haxx' because of him and I'm certainly not suggesting anyone else knew about his actions until the ban. But at the same time its hard not to feel that the outfit must have benefited in combat performance terms from him using them, particularly when he was PL. He may not have been as blatant in his instructions to you as in your example, but it must have had some influence somewhere along the line because he had information he shouldn't have had and also why not just run clean like the rest of us otherwise?

Anyway, good riddance, good to see a cheater get banned regardless of who it is. INI are still around, still good players, still a good fight. So hopefully we can just consign him to the PS2 history books where he belongs and enjoy good fights against them in future.

Been taking a bit of a break myself these past few weeks, need to get back into it again. Also very happy for those of you stuck with ProSieben accounts who can shortly migrate to SOE accounts: https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/soe-psg-important-faq-for-upcoming-player-migration-from-psg-to-soe.190230/

I can vouch for what PhysicsMan94 has said, KOTV was great with Curry leading, it's rather pathetic now.

Not to be mean but wasn't KOTV a zergfit anyway? I always just assumed you guys were in the "everyone welcome, the more the merrier" guild.
I've seen some VERY good KOTV tagged folks but there's an awful lot of cannon fodder too.

Anyway - they released the new continent + battle isles yet? Not played much since Christmas.

Not yet, but apparently next week is when Hossin is scheduled according to Higby.

They're working on cont locking for it as well as outfit base capture, which sounds interesting.

Yeah, huge update next week with Hossin, Continent lock, outfit recruiting and outfit base capture. I haven't played in a bit, don't feel like Planetside 2 when the weather gets this warm so going to have to reinstall for next week!

SOE Update said:
Rocket pods will be receiving a direct hit damage reduction that will lower its effectiveness against vehicles. We are adjusting it so that it will take 1 full volley of rockets (no misses) to the rear of an MBT will place it in critical damage instead of destroying it.

To me that seems stupid, a full volley of rocketpods to the rear of an MBT should definitely destroy it.

Just pop a few rounds of your nosegun into it afterwards.

That's not the point, if an esf user is able to sneak up on the rear of a tank then emptying an entire salvo of lolpods into it should destroy it - it's the tanks fault for exposing its back to the esf and the esf user should be rewarded with destroying the tank.

Lots of changes recently suggest SOE is just dumbing the game down ready for the PS4 console launch...

Chicken is a great leader and hopefully he'll be back.

But KOTV is now back up and running though. Fewer active members, maybe, but we can still run 2+ full platoons on peak-time alerts. We are far from 'floundering around' and have numerous dedicated platoon leaders and platoon members who actually follow orders.

Vanu used to win more alerts not only because of Chicken, but also because we had an over-pop in those days. Now we are often under-popped.

Not really a zerg. I've been in KOTV since the beginning and in FVK (which is what KOTV was called at first).

Despite what people think, KOTV is structured in a highly ingenious way, with only dedicated, trained and experienced leaders able to lead official Crusade platoons. Squad leaders similarly are picked from experienced members.

KOTV is well organised and platoons go where they are told to go. In a game based on scale, having the numbers under proper order is key.

More than anything else, KOTV has probably helped to keep Woodman and the Vanu alive. I can remember Vanu almost dieing out on Woodman before KOTV got going.

I should add that the KOTV crew are a good bunch. You are guaranteed fun and excitement in KOTV. And fun is the the main reason why we all play!

I think it's a good change. You can still kill tanks from behind, just need to use your nosegun and finish em off. I would often want to pull my hornets but thought what was the point when pods would not only finish a tank quicker, but I could also farm infantry and even use against libs and other esfs. This change helps define the hornets for a small sacrifice for pod users.

Indeed, but I personally doubt that he'll come back this time, not sure why but I get the feeling he is done with the game. Maybe I'm wrong though.

'Floundering around' was probably the wrong terminology to use, I guess I really mean that KOTV just aren't as organised as they used to be - but, again, I'm not a member of the outfit (I am in the ultimate farming outfit [VIB] ;)) so that could change soon.

That is very true, as far as I am aware VS hasn't had over-pop on Woodman for quite some time though - but I only just started playing the game again after a break of around 9 months so I'm not sure if we had overpop during that period.

Logged in yesterday and the Vanu were against the NC, and this is how it played out:

Spawned, sniped...spawned again and sniped, revived and sniped, respawned and walked out of the protection zone, several sniper shots whizzing past my head and then the game crashed.

Never seen so many snipers in my life, they were camped on each side of the hills with us in the valley.
