*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Can't actually start the game... A box flashes up quickly on the screen and disappears, then nothing. I'm unable to execute the game.
Anybody else have/had this?

Anyone fancy joining up for a blast tonight? I'm on eurydome (sp?) eu server. Last chance for me to play until its release :(

I've got a tr liberator with a kick ass cannon on the bottom :D

Oh :( I can't get it working haha, install from the exe, go to launch the game and it crashes on the launch logo (sony entertainment one). Huge issue apparently but no one has a solid fix for it.

Oh well... Won't be paying money for it once its released if they can't even acknowledge a serious issue in the beta lol.

You dont actually have to pay money... Anyhow i would agree generally, state of the game is very hiccupy at the moment. Ready for release? I would say another month would be better but i suppose if theyre not charging for it does it matter when its released as long as its generally playable... And of course they dont mess up the shop. Ah well, will be good having a character you can build up knowing they wont be shortyl wiped.

I should be on tonight, hopefully around 6. No plans so should get a solid few hours. Let me know what time your on and we shall go bomb stuff. Pow!

Have been in the beta for months but only managed to play the game once. Always really liked the idea though.

I see that Alpha squad sign up ends tomorrow so just asking if it's worth it or not?

Difficult to say really. For me personally, I knew i would have 'bought' this game if it had been that type of purchase so dropping 30 quid on the alpha squad package seemed like a good idea. You get 12 weapon unlocks, some fancy camo, and the 4000 creds. Problem is nobody know how much the weps/unlocks are going to cost.

If it makes a difference SOE use the same currency across all their games, so even if you dont use it on this one, might be another game you fancy coming out in due course. Theres an interesting rpg they got coming out next year i think...

Struggles to run on my lowly ATi 5650 Mobile at 1080p :(

Might try running it on my laptop monitor and not external!

I loved the original Planetside, played it pretty solidly through 2005-2007 :)

Up until a few weeks ago it ran like a dog for me but now all settings to max @ 1080p and it hardly ever drops below 40.

Once in a blue moon kinda thing! I'd imagine the game isn't making proper use of your 7970's in crossfire yet.

Smed has insinuated that 10 certs will cost 1 dollar. This means that a 750 cert gun will cost $7.50.

For us european players, the game will be run through ProSabien. Your alpha squad station cash will be converted to ProSabien "seven cash" when the game goes live. We have no idea what the exchange rate will be, or if it will be on parity with station cash.

The exchange rate thing is the main reason I have not got alpha squad despite playing every day since tech test. Logic says it will be converted via exchange rate but we all know/suspect that it'll be $1 = £1...

I think they have also stated that if you have an existing SOE account, moving to ProSabien will be optional.

This is what I initially thought, but the monthly sub is $14.99 and Smed told me directly in a reddit thread that it will be £8.99 for a monthly sub in UK, which is a damn good price if you ask me considering what you get for it. Also, if you pay 6 months up front you instantly get the 50% cert gain.
