Violet faction is the Vanu Sovereignty :P

What you describe sounds like an alert. They come up every few hours and basically say capture continent X, at the bottom of your map it will show a percentage bar which shows how much of the continent each empire controls. At the end of the alert everyone on those empires will get some xp. This is 10,000xp divided up based on how much territory your empire controlled. If you're on the continent in question you also get an extra 20%.

Thanks Qel for explaining it. Looks like easy way to rack up points!

The buggy is pretty awesome to use. Really enjoying using it with my teammates but yeah it's so damn easy to flip and crash. I killed myself and my outfits and a few others last night flipping over and exploding while also living through some insane moments where it went on it side and lived!

Been driving my Flash with Cloak with a Fury around lately, best killing machine ever. I have already spent a lot of certs on my Flash before but wish to spend more on it but gotta save up for the Max stuff again (Saved 3 times now and spent it all 3 times).

Love the Harasser, bit too easy to flip it though. Highlight of my PS2 week is killing a Scythe with the Phoenix whilst riding in the rumble seat, felt awesome :D

Had some run in this the other night. Driver, gunner, and me as engineer in the back repping away. Kept us going for ages! You can also drop tank mines off the back in motion if someone is following you :)

Epic alert last night on Indar (Woodman) - was with my outfit [PUGZ] fighting alongside other outfits such as [2CA] against NC's [GODS] and [FFS] outfits as well as others for most of the alert.

A massive battle was had to try to take Ceres Hydroponics from the NC - it's actually a really difficult territory to take, lots of open ground around it and plenty of opportunity for the defenders to snipe and rocket us from afar.

We took that eventually and then ended up getting attacked in the west by VS outfits, particularly [KOTV] - so another epic battle was had for Quartz Ridge Camp!

One of the best alerts I've been in so far

Yeah, I was there for a bit with my outfit.
Got caught out in the open with my burster max, in the end, I think i killed my infantry then aircraft with it. Some people don't realise that flak still hurts if you get shot in the face. :p

So tempted to get some station cash so I can buy dual Ravens, look like so much fun, but I always like to hold off for a double or triple SC event. Also as a mate pointed out, wait for a patch to see if they get nerfed.

151st Freedom Fighters [FFS] Platoon Leader waving hello :D

You can buy station cash codes on eBay, bought a few 5000 SC so far for around $13 to $19 and had no problems. Bought one 5000 code and a nVidia bundle code from the members market too.

Ugh! I'm really bad at impulse buying, spent 350 certs on Auto-Repair to level 4 for my Buggy as well as 150 certs on my Sundy timer.

Back down to 350+ certs from 750+ something. :D

I was at the battle for Ceres at least until 8pm. A great three way when the TR turned up (at first it was just NC v VS).

Most of the Vanu pulled out and went to Alatum eventually though. Ceres was just turning into a bloodbath.

I'd try and hold off for double or triple like you said tbh.

As for Ravens, expect both them and Fractures (TR) to be nerfed in effectiveness against infantry very soon. They're intended for use against vehicles so I would expect the damage against vehicles and possibly maxes to stay as it is.

Gone for composite, smoke, surger chassis and halberd on mine, loving it.

I was messing around with the various chassis types in VR, and still couldn't make up my mind. Combat chassis didn't seem to do much, racer seemed likely to just get me killed in spectacular fashion :D

Might end up going with surger myself.

Basically for me it was down to Surger (hill climbing and handling) vs Racer. Racer is great, until you hit a bump where you then lose all momentum, or so it seemed to me. Auraxis is not flat so surger is just great for me, and it seems to handle a little more easily too.

Turbo is a must. You can get up to 130+.

I was thinking of turbo myself at first but tbh, playing NC, every TR heavy carries a Striker so I just went with smoke to save the aggro.

Next I think I'll get the gate shield diffuser for it.

Be aware that I think this is only for SOE accounts and not for pros1eb7n or whatever the hell they are called.

I've just changed my i5 2500k setup for a Phenom x2 setup (unlocked x4), and was wondering about comments that AMD chips don't handle the x87 Physx instructions very well. So I was wondering... if I enable the Physx on my GTX 480 (in PS2 settings)... would this relieve the CPU of physx tasks so it would run better on an AMD CPU?

Obviously I'll be trying it out tonight.. just wondering if anyone else has tried it?

Can't really answer your question as I don't know but the various people in my outfit who have messed about with PhysX in PS2 seemed to conclude that unless you had a separate card specifically for it (an old or cheap graphics card) then the performance loss in large battles is just too much of a pain. Except the guy with sli titans but...yea

SCU overloads are very pretty with it on apparently :P

The game does indeed look prettier, but sometimes annoyingly so... with particles getting in your way too much and blocking your view of the enemy.

I didn't get a chance to do a proper test in a battle last night... I'll try and find a battle tonight... log in with and without to the same battle and see what the minimum values are and if it's CPU limited as much. (I expect the max GPU fps to be less, but hopefully the minimum to be higher.... with luck).
