**Official Portal 2 thread**

I can't believe how long myself and pea0n were stuck on one of the co-op levels in the second chapter bit!

Must have been a good 20-30 minutes scratching our heads... was really easy in the end when it clicked :(

Is that the one where you have to bang your heads together? Took a while as well but realised after farting around for a bit.

Looking for a coop player, I have a mic and I'm free to play most days (I work nights usually) I finished the main story in around 7 hours and only really got stuck a couple of times so I'm not completely retarded

just completed this on SP and did 2 more courses on co-op today just for achievement points. Definitely my game of the year!!

It's funny going through it for a second time and you finish a room which previously took you 5-10 minutes, in a minute or so, and you think "how the hell did I get so stuck on this the first time round? It's so simple!" :p

Just completed it, took 14 hours apparently. But no cheating!

Will be looking for some co-op over the next few days.

Do you need a mic to do the coop?

Can you type messages in game?

How do you buddy up anyway? Is there a lobby with people waiting to play?

You both have to be on each others' friends list. From what I gather mics aren't essential but they are a GREAT help. If you want to go coop with me, that would be good. Seeing as I like Opeth as well.

Thanks for the offer, I would defo take it up, only issue, is I havent boughtthe game yet, and I go on holiday for a week on Sunday.

I just looked at your Lyscriber blog thingy, we got more musical tastes in common!

Don't need to be on friends list for co op, I used the auto system and managed to find a partner on the first try, we did the whole lot together in one sitting!

No need for mic, press t to text chat, and there's a tool for 'place portal there ' and 'look there ' etc

Edit

I can't help but think I wish the game was more challenging, the trailers for both 1 and 2 show frantic quick gameplay in some sections, these seem to be cut from the final version in both.. Quick save should be removed and more challenging maps should be added

As you'll see from my synopsis of the game in the other spoiler thread, I too felt that it wasn't hard enough. The new gels and lasers gave plenty of room for very hard puzzles and "thinking outside the box" - but there weren't any. I suppose those of us who have been playing custom maps since Portal 1 have just been used to harder chambers.

If you're interested, I have bumped the old custom map thread if you fancy more challenging levels for Portal 1.

I sent you an invite with the name Mike M. Did the first 5 or so coop chambers with a random person and its pretty good fun but will be better with a regular "partner in science".

The other problem with the gels was that, in most cases, the maps were almost labelled "put gel here" which made everything that much simpler.

They did use a lot of visual cues for the puzzles. Like the circular image you had on some walls or the change in tile layout that pretty much said 'Place portal here'.
