Yeah. To some people it's real "end of the world" kinda stuff... really sad. I have to wait until my Birthday before I can play, so hopefully there will be a fix by then or it will be playable at least. If not, I'll simply... wait for it...

I'd be cautious reading too far into user reviews this early, those having technical issues will bitch and whine to be heard, but any users that are enjoying it won't be so outspoken at this point.
I've yet to hear any complaints with the game that aren't technical issues and I'd be surprised if there wasn't some patch and a newer driver by Friday.

Is the graphic/texture problem more on Nvidia or ATi cards, or is it about a 50/50 split.

From early reports it seems to be more of an ATI problem but there are some Nvidia issues too.

Typical -ATi user here so im screwed then lol, still 2 days to fix it before my disc copy comes

Yup, same here. I should be testing it tonight via VPN (unless I'm too lazy/busy).
Let me fix it for you! AWPC in telling it like it is & not falling for the same old PR spin about this game is great blah blah blah as we get paid money to advertise the publishers games so cannot tell it the way it is & have to give it a good review as its in our contract.
Having wasted so much good money on PC games in the last few years which were complete rubbish or not even working at launch I am somewhat experienced in spotting in advance nowadays & feel obliged to share my thoughts with others to save them money if you don't like that you can always ignore me or put me on your ignore list I won't lose any sleep about it regardless

Not really. You and others like you that drool "omg console portzzzz!!11" in reaction to every PC release aren't spotting things in advance at all, though of course if you say the same thing about every game you'll be right now and again. Much like a broken clock. Or a record.

i reckon that texture issue is down to the enine not allowing u to tweak the graphics yourself
looks like the engine keeps tweaking the txtures on the fly from say low - med- high every 2 seconds. if u could just set i to medium ourself you wouldnt have this issue

I am a bit disappointed in these early reports. I was sort of on the fence to buy it but decided to go for it given how good the vids looked and of course it's Id!
But early reviews and the texture bugs mean it might have to be shelved till ATI/Id bring out a fix which is a bit sad

Has been discussed already in the thread. It would be awesome if you actually showed any interest in the thread/game rather than just popping in every now and again to parrot whatever new issue you've found on the internet.

Thats good news, ATi have always been a bit behind on the OpenGL side things if i remember correctly.
