****Official rFactor 2 Thread****

So just had a bit more of a play prior to cooking/eating tea, I did the mod to 'fix' the rattle in the G25 which seemed to do it's job, but still really not liking the classic GP mod, just complete lack of steering feel, only tried the one car so far though.

Then I tried the megane, now that's a bit better, at first I was going to question the physics as I thought the megane was fwd but a bit of reading shows the race version is rwd, hence the 'oddness', learn something new every day :p Anyway, yes megane is a fair bit better in terms of feel, although still not up to iRacing imo but then that may be the 'fix' for the wheel or a more fundamental lack of laser scanned tracks...

As for graphics, like said they're a bit 'meh' really, nothing stunning, even set to max. Not tried triple screen yet but heard it's a bit broken/unoptimised so far.

i just tried the formula Renault and i enjoyed it tho need to tinker with the wheel settings, i was impressed with it been my first go on any rfactor...

graphics seem good to me maxed out...

just ordered a g27 aswell so should be fun..

weres the best place to keep a eye out for future mods/downloads for this game???

Has anyone tried setting up a server? i had one setup this morning. Had one person enter it and it was fine. I tried again few other times today but people can see it on the list. but cant connect to it.

Iv opened the necessary ports and allowed the rfactor dedicated in windows firewall...

If anyones up for a game, i got a server running. Its the meganes and mill track. Search for "Marcs test server - Mills"

Cheers Marc :)

The meganes do get a hell of a lot better after a few laps, questions over why they tyres take so long to warm up but nonetheless once they're warm it's good fun :)

Try warming them up on a server with 30 folk :D your braking points have to be at least a mile before the corner to avoid hitting anyone.

I find putting more pressure in the tyres actually warms the tyres up abit more, but after 3-4 laps you end up having loads of under steer. Good for a qaulifiying lap i guess.

im struggling with this abit cant get the right feel for the cars and im sick of tweaking setting now..

seems the megane is the only car i feel i can actually drive..

anyone got any profiler setting and in game settings that are ok for most cars???

Ok I found the settings that are just about perfect for my G27. Your mileage may vary.

NOTE: This is not a "cure". It just brings the rattle/shakes down to an acceptable level

Saved Controller Profile and Controller.ini:
Steering effects strength = 7000
Steering torque filter = 8
Jolt magnitude = 1.00000

In-game:
FFB = 1.0

Profiler:
Overall Effects = 100%
Spring Effect = 5%
Damper Effect = 10%
Center Spring = 0% (box checked)
Degrees of Rotation = 900
Allow Game to Adjust Settings = box checked

By lowering the steering effects strength, but raising the in-game FFB, you still get all the feeling of the road, but the curbs and off-track are now acceptable. At least for me they are.

thread started back in 2010 :D

The old man bought this yesterday and has told me to wait. 'still a long way off before its up to rf1 standards'

he close to the mark?

Iv been on rfactor 2 since day 1 it was announced :D my soul was set to the game. When it was first announced, there was like half a years wait before any screesnhots/more news that came out. I posted every update on this topic as soon as it was released :)

The price isnt going to go down any even after the beta. Purchase now if you know your going to get rfactor 2 in the future. Just if you buy it now, you get a chance in the beta :)

Alright, i have another server going. Same again mills and meganes. This time its 10 mins practice, 5mins qauli and a 5 minute race. Weather is random just to spice things up abit.

Server name is "Marcs Test Server - Mills "

I am so slow in the game :D I did 7-10 laps in the meganes and was still 0.500 seconds off the last AI car ¬.¬

I've not tried an actual race yet as I don't think my heart could take it plus I have been pretty busy. I haven't been crazily impressed with rFactor 2 yet but I haven't put much time in to it and with the lack of mods (well durrrr it just came out!) it is missing most of the magic that rfactor has/had :p

I think the weather transactions are fantastic though! I was on Spa with my 60's F1 car and it was slightly over cast but still sunny, with the shadows getting darker and more frequent with odd bursts of sun light. Then here comes the light rain fall! One lap later it became far harder to see and the road becoming 10x more slippery. Looked awesome :D Subtle but awesome!
