You cant use all your soul points per role though. if you have only 20 points. its spread across all those roles mate

Not currently, a bit too early.
Erm no... you get to use all the points you have in all roles, so e.g. if you could have 50 points, each role would have 50 spent in it.

i bought a new role and when i enabled that role and added souls in it i could not put any points on it as the points where 0 remaining

You canput full points in each role bud, youmayhave miss clicked something as it will defintly let you.

It's a bug - just close and re-open the soul tree window after you've changed roles and your points will all be there to allocate.

That event looks pretty special 
that's what I have loved about this game so far, it uses the world and uses larges groups of people in them. It actually feels like you are in a world. Should be fun on a pvp server seeing how long guard/defiant can get on until the raids turn on one another I love the fact how it promotes cross faction co-operation too despite the desire to just nuke the beggars

Worry not, its the first of many, they talked of having world events every 4-8 weeks, plenty more to come !
I believe 1.1 is coming in the first week of April.

I think you've worded that wrong, a role is a different spec. If you are max level you can put 51 points into 1 soul, the other 15 can be put into either of the others. If you want to have less in and more in the others then you can do that aswell.
But you have 4 roles, ie. 4 specs each one has the full amount of points to use on either of the 3 souls.

Haven't watched full vid as streaming on my iphone isn't the greatest. So does it say will the event unfold over a few days, week, single day or will it be done and dusted over the course of an hour or two?
Hopefully be a slightly longer term as I would be gutted to miss the whole thing.
As 'Wes said, not currently. But I have heard rumours of a trial being available from sometime in May. I assume they want to get it started around then for when the kids are on holidays and can try the game out.
It doesnt really specify, I do know that they have said that some of the world events will last for weeks, from the video it looks like this was all done in a day, but he does mention that they had GM help, so it might be that GMs pushed things along quicker so that the whole thing could be tested. Not sure.
EDIT : On the test server the whole thing (with GMs help) took 5 hours.
