*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

I have 1800x and asrock X370. Just built system on latest bios.

Cpu temps 50idle and 90oC load.

Surly wrong, is this a bug

There is a setting in Bios that if set incorrectly can add 20c to temps. Sensi skew or something like that. Otherwise reseat your cpu cooler , if overclocking set bios to defaults to confirm all is ok.

Mine idles at high twenties and max about 55c.

sounds like the 20 degree offset numbers on the X variants rather than the "real" temp

Try downloading HWiNFO64 and check the CPU (Tdie) temp, it sounds like those temps you mention are reading the CPU (Tctl) temperature

I have just ordered an AM4 bracket for my corsair H100i v1 which i was going to sell. This should help and hopefuly allow 3800mhz.

I will check HWiNFO64 and let u know.

So I'm on Ryzen now :) Fancied a change from my ageing i7 3770k and it's been a very pleasant experience thus far.

Currently have my 1800x @ 3.9Ghz, just bumped the voltage to 1.4v and will test out 4.0Ghz tomorrow. All seems fairly stable and temps on an H60i are maxing out at around 67C so that's pretty impressive in my eyes, especially since my Phanteks Shift isn't the best for cooling efficiency.

Ram I ended up going for was the Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz C15 XMP 2.0 and I've managed to get that running as expected...well @ 2933Mhz.

Will tweak a bit more over time but it seems to run everything great so far.

To be honest with yours been the 1800 I would drop volts to 1.3 and see if stable first, Will keep temp+power down too

Plan was to attempt 4.0Ghz @1.4 and drop but wanted to quickly test at 3.9Ghz.

Seen the recommended Voltage for clocking was 1.3625, will try out 3.9 at 1.3 tomorrow and see if it’s stable.

I seem to be stable at 3200Mhz on the memory again, but I need to enable GDM. Without GDM I can't do higher than 2933Mhz, guess it's fine like this, 3200 with lax timings is still a modest improvement over 2933.

Edit: Nvm, found memory errors with HCI memtest with more thorough testing. Seems I'm stuck with 2933Mhz.

My 1600X runs a Base clock at 3.7 not 3.6, not complaining just wondering where the additional 100Mhz. Not done any OC

Seems to be normal. Mine's something like 3.69. For which I am grateful because my PoS motherboard spikes the voltage savagely if I overclock it at all :(

more than likely the turbo core bumping it up slightly
Interesting, thanks

I have just enabled game mode on my MB (MSI x370 Gaming Plus) and my cores now 3.8, done some Firstrike runs an posted a 16700, which I am more than happy with.

I am still really impressed with my 1600X. I really have not found anything it was not equal to my 4790K (rip)
My fear was always that it would lack slightly in some areas, however that just is not the case and GTA is notably smoother, which is my main game. Will fire up Ark at some point and see how it copes with that.

Cheers

Didn't post @ 1.3V so bumped it up to 1.325V and it appears to be stable, probably doesn't need that much but I'll re-start my process from there and see how high I can push close to the 4Ghz without having to up the Voltage.

glad to hear it, what speed is your ram and gb

That's not bad tbh if stable at that. Certainly better than pumping 1.4 through when not needed

Try gaming whilst streaming via CPU, that seems to find ant instability for me.
