*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

Just a little feedback after having Ryzen for over a month.

Specs:

1800X @ 4GHz
32GB Corsair Vengeance LED 3200MHz @ 2666MHz
ASUS ROG Crosshair VI
nVidia 1080TI

First of all, what a messy release. I have to commend ASUS for all the hard work they're doing to build on the CH6 with the community, great work. Hopefully we'll see great improvements after the next AGESA update in May. A shout-out to HWiNFO too, as they have been working close to get the temperature confusion under control.

I am running BIOS 1001 on the CH6 still, simply because I find it flawless except where POST speed and the memory is concerned. I'm not willing to faff with it any more to maybe get the 32GB above 2666MHz. 16GB i can run at 3200MHz if I want, that's easy. I will wait until after the next AGESA update before upgrading the BIOS.

Things are smooth and quick. The black magic in upping the minimum FPS in games is incredible in some cases. Churning out files in Ableton is lightning and general production is tip-top.

Things are also dead quiet and cool, the H110i is keeping the chip lovely and cool with fans down low. The 1800X helps as the voltage is well under 1.4v to achieve 4GHz, so I have no regrets jumping for the 1800X whilst most others went for the 1700.

I will continue to run as it is until sometime late next month and keep an eye on the development. I've been using it full-chuff since release and whilst things can and will be better, it's certainly not as bad as some may think or say it is in my opinion. So despite the niggles, rush and requirement of patience; Thanks AMD and welcome back.

Yeah post speed is not fantastic on platform. I also had situation where occasionally I'd get failed memory training on 3200MHz, AMD "code" aka AMD CBS would reset to default so CPU in default state can be at ~1.35V in UEFI but the Extreme Tweaker page does not reset which = CPU get real ~1.5V.

Not too much of a biggie for me, but 1 guy on OCN had 1.8V go through CPU = borked, he can not use stock settings. A few have had ~1.6V, IIRC no detriment to CPU.

Asus team state it is AMD code which runs at post first does not "play nice" with theirs. Hoping a resolution comes from either side.

I have resorted to place system in "Sleep" rather than shutting down. Yet to have "borked resume", some are having issues with "Sleep". One other benefit of using "Sleep" is instant "go to" desktop. Power usage in "Sleep" is AOK by me, ~5.0W I see on wall plug meter vs ~4.0W on shutdown but mains active to rig.

Just out of interest what settings did you use to get the RAM at 3200. I have the same motherboard and 2 x 8GB Corsair LPX 3200, works fine at 2933 but won't boot past BIOS at 3200.

Are the Agesa updates included in the motherboards BIOS updates when they are released ?

Not built a PC for several years so still catching up :)

I have not been checking topic for 1 days but this new Memtest by W1zzard came out.
Its BETTER than Dos Memtest86 and windows HCI Memtest !!!!
Reason is... more stress on IMC. I passed 9 hours dos Memtest and 7 hours HCI Mamtest. And today after 20 or so minutes PC crashed while running this one. Bumped SoC by 1 tick and 1 hour Pass no problem :)

Zeed Approved :) This is first program that managed to BSOD my system within 20 minutes. Respect :)

just changed my ram to 3200 and boots fine at stock but any overclock on the cpu fails to post, but ive found I can set the ram in the bios to 3200 boot into windows and use ryzenmaster to overclock and all seem to be working ok

Managed to get it down to this for 3200MHz RAM on 1001:

RAM @ 3200MHz multi 14,15,15,34,1T
1.375v DRAM
1.375v DRAM Boot
1.825v PLL
1.12v SOC

Nice find I'll be sure to try this. I've got some crappy Corsair ram that seems unstable at any speed but passes memtest this could come in handy.

Same settings I used for a ~6hrs/1000% HCI MemTest has been working for ~55min on MemTest64 TPU, when end will share.

Hi there, What CPU did you go from ? I have a 3770k and its getting on a bit and been looking at these threads wondering to get an 1800x. I have a choice a 1080ti or a 1800x. At the moment A Gtx 1080 which I am using is enough for my needs.

I took this route and quite like the 1700 but I'm in no rush for a gpu as I'm waiting on vega

I came from an i7 3930K that I ran at 4.4GHz

Sooooo officially drained and the 1800x fitted, i'm now in the special 'RAM OC Anonymous' Club.

Someone please tell me how to disable the M.2 HDD LED on this board... Its flashing yellow constantly and annoying me :D Or I need to get the sharpie out?

Time to OC... RAM might have to wait until next week as I don't think my 32GB (4 x 8GB dual sided) is going to play nice.

Very nice! I think it's a Sharpie job tbh, mine is the same it's irritating as hell.

The Aorus AX370 is great for the lights too.
Full RGB all over the board, but the orange light showing whether you are in main bios or backup bios, right in the middle of the board, stays orange no matter the colour you set everything else to.
