*** Official SONOS Thread ***

Arc arrived, haha bit bigger than I thought!

Sounds fantastic though with the 2 surrounds and the sub, definate upgrade to the Playbase which will now be retired to spare room duty.

Lesson learned (again) - remove all speakers from room config first, then install new speaker otherwise you will be faffing around resetting and the like. Thankfully I have both Android and IOS devices to config this too :D

Does anyone use a roam the house on a charging stand? It's much better than any of my Google homes but I don't want to t rash the battery

Got a beam 2 yesterday and very impressed so far, loving how small it is too.

Anyone got good recommendation on what settings to use? I usually have volume around 10-15 if that makes a difference. Not sure I like the loudness setting being turned on, sounds quite muddled to me? I have done the sound tuning using my work iphone, which seems to have improved quality a bit.

I'm not really a big fan of too much bass (as in where the room vibrates...) and appreciate as close to accuracy as possible e.g. on my pc I have edifier 2.0 speakers connected to asus essence stx 2 SC and have hifi mode on with the smart volume mode turned on.

Looking to replace all my old play 5's... I've got the 30% discount but looking at ebay 2nd hand are much much cheaper. I need to replace the ones in my restuarants too. So thinking might save the discounts and buy from ebay

So from memory it went from Play 5 Gen 2 in 2015 to Five in 2020.

The Gen 2 supports S1/S2, and I can’t see Sonos bringing an S3 app out any time soon.

If you can find several Gen 2s at a good price, I’d go for them. Don’t believe they’re sonically any different either.

Have you “done trueplay tuning”?. Worth ago if you have access to an iPhone.

With my discount I can get 2 new 5's for £350 each, Which I cant find 2nd hand near that price

Sonos 5s are great, on top of being a great speaker they also have a 3.5mm line in, which if you aren‘t too fussy and audiophile I guess adds a whole bunch of connectivity options for non sonos kit.

I used it in the past for a deck, cd dj and TVs before I went all in on home cinemas and a port.

Well I have picked up a Roam today in Greece for 99 euros, in fact I got 2. I felt the price was too good to miss, about 90 pounds each. one for me, one as an Xmas present.

Bought this, got it on buy now pay later for another 20% off, came to £880.
Trying to do the same as I have been thinking about buying an Arc and Sub for a few months and this price is too good to pass up.

However not sure if Very are being bombarded but my transaction just won’t complete; tried using different payment options and always fails.

Update: Finally worked looking forward to trying it out, my last soundbar was a 13 year old LG one which I left wired up in our house when we sold it a few months back.
