Question re the beam gen 2 for everyone, I just picked one of these up and was going to mount it in a custom cabinet, I have an empty fireplace below the TV which I am going to build a cabinet in and am thinking I will make a slot kind of recess in it at the top for the beam to sit in. Just wondering if anyone has done this or knows if its a total no no regarding the sound. I would make the recess bigger than the sound bar by a reasonable amount I just don't know if its going to ruin the sound stage, I know the beam has no upwards firing speakers, thoughts ?

Update: Finally worked looking forward to trying it out, my last soundbar was a 13 year old LG one which I left wired up in our house when we sold it a few months back.

Mine arrived yesterday, I was away with work however for a few days, just back in the door after a 6 hour drive.

Will get a look at it tomorrow.

That’s crap they cancelled it, any explanation?
 
After you posted about it I couldn’t even see the Arc on the very website it was like they had removed it so I assumed stock had gone.

It then reappeared the following day which is when I then ordered it.

In this update:​

  • Sonos Voice Control is now available in French.

  • Sonos products will now show a status message in the System tab or the Settings menus when they’re offline. We’ll be rolling this change out to all users over a few days after release.
    • Products that are offline or disconnected will no longer disappear from the app. Instead, they’ll show a “not connected” status message. Tapping the name of the product will launch in-app help to get it reconnected. Learn more.
    • Portable Sonos products will let you know if they’re in sleep mode, powered off, or if the battery has been depleted.
    • If a product is disconnected and you’d like to hide it from the app, you can do so under the product’s menu in Settings > System.
  • Roam has two new Bluetooth settings which can be enabled in your Roam’s settings page.
    • Idle Auto-Disconnect will disconnect the Roam from its Bluetooth device after an idle period of 30 minutes.
    • Always Auto-Connect will connect your Roam to its most recent Bluetooth device when it detects it nearby.
  • Bug fixes and performance enhancements.

I've had my 30% upgrade discounts for ages... I'm feeling the itch to replace all my old stuff now... I'll move the old stuff to the Bar. But the itch is nearly £3k's worth.. But that should have the whole house covered again....
 
So we have about 7 or so original Play ones and one of the newer ones with voice control. I got top the bottom of my intermittent drops by switching from amazon music to apple and it's been perfect ever since.

When using Alexa it defaults to amazon music, can you change this to use Apple Music or do I just have to use the app manually?
 
So I'm now fully on S2.

But my music service playlists are not showing tracks.
So if I search for a Queen playlist for instance, I get a playlist come up with a "synopsis". But S1 had an actual track list....
Tried Spotify and Amazon music services.... S1 stuff still shows track list. But not S2.

S1 you used to double click a playlist or Album and get a track list, thats missing now
