*** Official SONOS Thread ***

My biggest problem with this guy is he often promises new features and lofty goals in interviews, which the company either can't deliver or delivers very very late
Which is stupid as you are setting yourself and your company up to fail by doing that, especially with an internet that never forgets.

Under-promise and over-deliver. FTW

I’ve canned my Sonos stuff, for 2 reasons:

1 - the sound wasn’t great in the living room at the new property

2 - because of the poor app which is still problematic for me, I couldn’t be bothered to spend the time finding a solution.

It was great when it was working well, but it has been winding me up continuously for months now.

Same. I've gone for Wiim

Hornetstinger just PMd me about Wiim but I didn’t fancy having a Chinese device with an always on microphone, which can’t currently be disabled, built into the unit.

Paired with the severe undercutting price wise of the competition, with no viable long-term strategic business model to be profitable with the quality of software they provide, it makes me highly suspicious of the the company.

Anyone used the new Sonos amp, have a couple of the old ones but now UI offer an amp, little more powerful with dual 1gb, why on earth does Sonos stick with 100mb, must be getting harder to source 100mb interfaces over 1gb these days.

They are identical in size and IO but the UI unit is just over £100 cheaper.

Finally had enough, got all the boxes out the loft and getting all my sonos speakers boxed up ready to sell. Will keep one Play One for the garage and the rest can go. No one in the house wants to use them anymore and people prefer to just lob in headphones rather than faff about with the sonos app.

You listing them in the MM?
I am looking for a cheap sonos sub (not mini), if you are.

I'm going to try them locally first, they are pristine and I've even been able to box them up as they came due to keeping everything in my usual anal standard  If they don't go locally I will put them on the MM. I'm getting rid of 5 play 1 to start with. I will get rid of the rest when I've started a replacement system.

Sounds like something no one will want.

"Suprisingly expensive"

"Sources familiar with Pinewood tell me it has a “beautiful” interface, despite the software being developed in partnership with a digital ads firm"
I see plenty of people wanting to use their Era 300’s in different configurations which this seemingly will offer so I wouldn’t be so sure on that.

Now will it be a hard sell to those with Apple TV’s (including myself)? Very much so.

But I’m certainly open to the idea of having my Ultra hooked up to a Sonos-esque One Connect box with everything syncing nicely.
