I’ve found it very underwhelming, and my 5 year old SoundLink sounds better to my ears.Really? I think it's excellent and most reviews agree.
It’s ok for a portable speaker and cheap enough that it doesn’t matter so much, but not great.

Cheers, I saw yesterday and placed an order. Managed to get it and the Arc with 30% off.
I bought a Zone Player for about £70 from Cex, added it to my account and then activated the upgrade. I then sent the ZP back to CEX (although I'm still waiting for the refund). How do you get the 30% off? Is that the trade in scheme?
Anyone currently using a Beam? Considering moving from my aging 5.1 set up to a Beam plus 2x Play 1s. I've already got one Play 1 so would need to pick up another.
One thing I'm concerned about is loosing a dedicated sub. Difficult to swallow the price for the sonos sub right now.
Would I miss it? Or is the sub a neccesary purschse to go with the beam?
I've got the Beam and it was underwhelming until I added the sub.
Thanks. Thought this may be the case.
Sub feels very expensive at 700 quid!
Wish I could hear an Arc because I can't see how it compares with other sound bars with additional sub.
Currently torn between that and Sony ST5000 but that's £400 more.
Edit. Just saw there is a sub available for £700.
The ARC like almost all soundbars has poor bass no matter what anyone else tries to convince you of. If you want bass, you need the sub.
There are some soundbars in the wild with good bass, the ones with large drivers - like the Ambeo - these soundbars are much larger than most and weigh much more too. For example most soundbars weigh between 5kg and 10kg, a soundbar with good bass will weigh about 20kg
I've got the beam, and its decent as a standalone speaker, for upgrading TV's with rubbish sound. However, most TV's now are kicking out decent sound as standard. The Sony A8 I have has decent sound without a soundbar.
Is the sub really that good? I have the KEF 3005SE setup with a pioneer LX52 amp for surround sound room.
With a bit of playing around you can connect almost any wired sub to the Sonos ARC
