How do you get the 30% off? Is that the trade in scheme?
I bought a Zone Player for about £70 from Cex, added it to my account and then activated the upgrade. I then sent the ZP back to CEX (although I'm still waiting for the refund).

Anyone currently using a Beam? Considering moving from my aging 5.1 set up to a Beam plus 2x Play 1s. I've already got one Play 1 so would need to pick up another.

One thing I'm concerned about is loosing a dedicated sub. Difficult to swallow the price for the sonos sub right now.

Would I miss it? Or is the sub a neccesary purschse to go with the beam?

I've got the Beam and it was underwhelming until I added the sub.

Thanks. Thought this may be the case.

Sub feels very expensive at 700 quid!

You can get them cheaper. Either via the refurb store or with discount codes from some employers or old sonos kit.

I got my Beam as a refurb for £250 with added Blue Light discount and sub was £490 with a 30% off code from my Play:5 Gen 1.

Wish I could hear an Arc because I can't see how it compares with other sound bars with additional sub.
Currently torn between that and Sony ST5000 but that's £400 more.
Edit. Just saw there is a sub available for £700.

The ARC like almost all soundbars has poor bass no matter what anyone else tries to convince you of. If you want bass, you need the sub.

There are some soundbars in the wild with good bass, the ones with large drivers - like the Ambeo - these soundbars are much larger than most and weigh much more too. For example most soundbars weigh between 5kg and 10kg, a soundbar with good bass will weigh about 20kg

Was tempted but not sure my room would make the most of it. In the end I went for the Samsung Q800A which was 799 and richer sounds give you the wireless rear speakers free if I want to connect them up.

I've got the beam, and its decent as a standalone speaker, for upgrading TV's with rubbish sound. However, most TV's now are kicking out decent sound as standard. The Sony A8 I have has decent sound without a soundbar.

Is the sub really that good? I have the KEF 3005SE setup with a pioneer LX52 amp for surround sound room.

It's probably not an amazing sub in the grand scheme but if certainly made a huge difference to the beam.

its a nice looking sub too. just noticed there are different generations of sub, i doubt i will add a sub to my 2nd room, kids love the beam, its great for musical statues, as you can just press the play/pause button for spotify.

I was quite lucky, managed to skip the Q on Arc and Sub.
I managed to call up richer sounds at a good time and was offered their demo stock until my actual order came in.

picked it up the next day while my order was 86 in the Q.

I did have to put up with a white sub for a couple of months though.

I have the Arc and love it but had to get the hdfury arcana to sort lip sync issues on my lg oled. I then got the hdfury vertex 2 which is a switch but I now struggle to get cec commands working from TV to soundbar for volume up and down.
