Bought a Sub in November last year to go with my Play 1 pair, excellent piece of kit! Use it everyday, has really opened up the Play 1's now that they don't need to provide any of the bass.
It makes quite a difference to the Playbar. Weirdly it's less about the huge bass, and more about freeing the play bar up to the mid/high stuff. I still think it's massively overpriced, but it is good.
Presumably when the sub is disabled in the app it also undoes the crossover change. I can hear SOME bass come out the playbar when I do that. Just not the room-shaking wall of deep bass that the sub provides
It'd be nice to know, as otherwise that's a huge selling point to the unknowing, ie not putting the crossover back when the sub is still part of the system. People will go zomg have you heard that and immediately buy.

You can talk about competitors as long as the item being talked about is being sold on OcUK and the shop sells far more than just computer items, at least that is how I understood the rules. But you can't talk about direct competitors who are computer specialists.
I have bought 2 x Play 5 speakers, reasonably impressed at this point, not sure if its enough to justify the price yet but I need to have an extended listen. I am rarely blown away by things like this, it always takes time but there is no denying the luxury of having something so easy to set up and that just works. Need to convince the wife its money well spent however..
Have you guys found the sub improves after being "run in" or does that particular piece of Hi-Fi folklore not apply to the SONOS kit? I'm not that impressed with mine so far.

Not sure about being run-in, but I find it's MUCH more subtle than I was expecting it to be. Paired with the Playbar the sound just seems to fill the room more now, I guess because the Playbar can focus on everything except the bass.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't TBH. I could probably try when I have some time, it just take a bit of effort as my 2 Play5's and my SUB are in 3 different rooms!
