***Official Squad Thread***

Just stumbled on this.....not sure how I hadn't heard about it before.

Will be hovering over the money key at 8pm tonight and spreading the word......

If you used your mind a little you might realise why they need further funding to turn it from a pre alpha project into a fully fledged game :)

People know the risks with kickstarter and steam greenlight so if you don't like that model then don't buy, simple :)

Why can't they get finance from a proper financial institution?

oh that's right, kickstarter isn't regulated and there is no interest to be paid.

If your project is successfully funded, the following fees will be collected from your funding total: Kickstarter's 5% fee and payment processing fees (between 3% and 5%). Please note we do not withhold VAT. If funding isn't successful, there are no fees.

Kickstarter fee
5% of total funds raised

Payment processing fees
3% + £0.20 per pledge
Pledges under £10 have a discounted micropledge fee
of 5% + £0.05 per pledge

Still less than a bank and no risk

Which is entirely why it came about.

There are arguments against it but when kickstarter funding is used right it's excellent.

There's always a risk backing a project early and you don't have to if you don't like it :)

I understand Kickstarter needs the proverbial carrot and stick but their Alpha, Pre-alpha, pre-alpha weekend shenanigans seems a bit off.

Maybe just me being a grumpy git :)

That's one of the reasons I'm not backing the game even though I'm interested in it. It's not keeping in line with the spirit of Early Access. If I pay for an Early Access game I expect to play it immediately throughout development. Asking more money to have what they consider a privilege to play pre-alpha and closed alpha builds is taking the ****.

Looking through all the Early Access games I've bought within the past year(s) (some which have been released now):

- Assetto Corsa
- DayZ SA
- Verdun
- Killing Floor 2
- Intersteller Marines
- Insurgency
- Contagion
- Trine Artifacts of Power
- Brawlhalla
- The Forest

There are probably more to that list but they've all allowed me to play the game and contribute towards it's development from the get go. Not a month down the line, not a year later but immediately.

Christ, it's only a month to wait guys. There's things we want to get in there and fix before we let everyone playing it.

Thought all KSers had to be fully funded and past the final date before they released the product. So of course its going to be 30 days before we see any action.

In all honesty seeing how PR was and current pre alpha footage, I'd say that's more for hardcore fans and some of the more casual lot may even get put off by the current state of the game.

Not all Kickstarter projects let you play the game straight away amd not missing out on an awful lot if you don't go for with thr expensive option.
