***Official Squad Thread***

I know there's a limited market, and limited appeal for first person games (due to easily making yourself queasy), but Oculus Rift support would be the balls for this.

Immersion overload :)

That it is - but it's whether you choose to support it :)

Looks like Unreal has added 0.6SDK support as well.

Not to tell you guys how to do you job or anything, but if you did want a bit of injection to your kick starter campaign, releasing a Oculus video showing it at least working, in theory, might get your a few extra grand for all those VR fanatics like myself ;)

Note: Already backed for Alpha access, and will no doubt have fun regardless!

EDIT: Oh, and it's maybe worth pointing out that part of what makes me so interested in this game for use with VR is the "solid" nature of the graphics and engine that I think will work a lot better than other games like ArmA3, which relies to heavily on text based in game menus and a gameworld/scale/engine that just can't reach the FPS required for really good VR.

I don't think we will be implementing OR any time soon unfortunately. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve given the tools available. Loads more things to get done first but like TrackIR, it's on the list!

Are the weapons class/side dependent?

Or can I have my beloved AK on US/Army side?

They are side dependent.

I'm not sure if you will be able to pick-up weapons or not in the final game, but the developer stated it is not something that would typically happen in real life, so I presume from that they won't allow it in game, but I'm speculating.

Gents,

Why is their kickstart page saying delivery is Sept 2015 for the Commander package? Do I not get Closed alpha test now?

Closed pre alpha starts after the Kickstarter campaign. Halfway down the Kickstarter page is a development timeline, although it's not dated.

The problem with giving out keys now is people could cancel their Kickstarter pledge.

That's crap. It is a game at the end of the day and they should let us have a choice of weapons to use, regardless of roles.

Just have to wait and see.

It's a game that has some realism involved so it makes perfect sense how it is currently. Having said that, we've still not decided 100% how we are going to handle enemy weapons...

Well not really, they want to keep some realism.

It's not Battlefield, I don't want to see Americans running around with AKs with bright orange dragon skins on them.

I understand the realism, don't get me wrong. Just I prefer being able to play and be competitive with a weapon of my preference.

Don't want silly things like skins etc, just able to use my AK on the US/Army side.

Just have to wait and see. There's hope! :P
