******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I see what you mean, erm no. it looks exactly like that, other than the lightning, haven't see any lightning yet but that could just be because reasons.... and its actually worse, if you wonder around you can see some of the light source assets reflected in the puddles

When the PTU is back up again i'll make an IC report about that, hopefully they will fix that before it goes live.

Probably the light passes too much through the clouds and such. Normally this should be fixed by default with a GI ray tracing, but hopefully either that gets into the game zero day at launch or at least it gets fixed with raster.

Also, it would be nice to have the vegetation destructible as well and reacting properly to the wind. We've seen swamps and dense forests, without a way to clear them for lading, it will be a nightmare from a gameplay PoV, but also from a realistic/immersion PoV.

Here's a question.
Has CIG floated the expected price for the game for when it might actually release?

I'm wondering about their expectations, when they can sell no working ships for so much money.

this doesn't sound promising

I talked to a couple of cig devs and first of all. 1 is a producer and the other two were junior /mid level devs.

2nd of all two of them left because they wanted to move out of the UK.

So nothing to do with dislike working there but more regarding the the majority who voted the tores in power for the last decade that has ruined the country.

Yea. So it's not a concern and just clickbait that article.

Listen. It's not all roses in cig. They made a massive mistake selling those stupid ai blades
i like the idea of the blades themselves and indeed i will need them if i want to experience the larger vessels in the game. but they need to be earnable in game before they are put up for sale imo.

I hope you are right about not being a concern... i am not one of those "Star Citizen is a scam" people - and indeed on the only other gaming forum i post on i am generally laughed at for being some sort of a star citizen apologist!.

but imo there IS plenty of stuff to worry about regarding star citizen.... maybe not so much for people happy to play as is, but for those of us who dont want to even start playing until i know my progress will be safe and not wiped imo there is plenty to worry about.

IF the game died in 6 months is possible some people will consider they already got their monies worth but as someone who doesnt do alphas i defintely havent yet.

That is a good question and no one has an answer to it, not even CIG themselves.

The problem here is that people will just read that article and not bother doing research and then spread false news how cig main devs from server meshing team have quit etc etc

(massive naive comment coming up given how much the likes of the telegraph/express etc write and get away with it)

but if it is nonsense then shouldn't the sites who post these articles be open to being sued for libel?

I mean it would not be difficult to prove its potentially damaging and if its factually untrue then it seems an easy win.

Gotta say I've been underwhelmed by this particular case of shenannigans. I've not even been able to leave my hab at Area 18 to check out fleetweek, out of 5 days of attempts. As much as I'd like to have a look around the ships, I guess I'll just wait for better stability, and hopefully the newer players will have had a better time freeflying than I have this last week. At least it should be better when they're all gone next week :D

Do a char reset

Do a char reset
Already did, that got me from loading hang, to stuck in my hab at Area 18 :D I've seen a bit of fleetweek on the ptu, so it's not the end of the world. I'm not in a huge rush to see the new ships, I'll find them left floating around waiting for me to strip parts, at some point or another.
