******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Dave if you join the discord just let us know which name you use if it's different from on OCUK and we'll make sure you can see the various star citizen channels mate.

Get it in game for completing Squadron 42 if/when it ever releases from what I understand.

That was the original idea.. they've probably changed it since!

I'm quite impressed by the 9700X, the 7800X3D is only 7% faster and i have no doubt with a couple of tweaks you could get that to equal it easily. The problem is the price, £320, IMO that's too high, the 7700X is also too expensive at £290 and amazingly the 13700K and 14700K are £350.

These mid level processors are too much money, the 7900X is £350, its the same price, its like they really don't want to sell you anything half decent for much under £300 these days even if it makes them the same price as higher end CPU's.

AMD continue to impress with performance per watt IMHO. Quite amazing how good the last few years CPUs have been!

EPTU is a bit odd to be honest mate, they tend to focus on the US ones and other regions may/may not be there.

Many evo testing sessions only take place on US servers!

Humbug and I had an interesting event last night, at 0:52s in, you can see Humbug bumping into wreckage, but he claims (without evidence I might add - damning!) that he didn't hit anything, so it's like we were out of sync whenver in quantum even though he was piloting and I was passenger.

I used a loaner Polaris to do Save Stanton phase 2 missions. Just flew over to the ship to rescue, parked and hopped around the turret positions shooting.

I quite like it although don't actually own one, still no idea why I had a polaris as a loaner at the time as the largest ship I own in a Cutlass Red just now :D

Do you need to have some (no doubt) paid thing going on to access PTU?

PTU is the public test universe, when it's open it's generally everyone can get in.
EPTU (Experimental Public Test Universe) is the early test universe that's generally Evocati and CIG only, however also can get opened up in waves to everyone over time, which seems to have been what happened here. Generally while being a subscriber etc gets you earlier access, being an active player does too.

Access waves:
Evocati: ~2900 players in this group.

Wave 1: Subs, highest hours played between last 2 patch cycles, and Legatus Navium

Wave 2: Subs, Second most active players from previous 2 patch cycles, and Praetorian

Wave 3: Subs, Third most Active, Wing Commander, Space Marshal, and Grand Admiral

Wave 4: Subs, Fourth most active, High Admiral ($1k spent)

Wave 5: Open PTU, everyone is in.

Hangar doors can go invisble, be visible but not really there or act like jaws of doom and munch you up as you go through for the heck of it. Not sure why this bug is there but it's got many forms!

Anyone tried the Guardian / Qi yet?

It seems to tick a lot of boxes the Vanguard failed to do for me. More solo focused, lots of quality of life elements etc.

I got out this morning but sadly no missions showing, seems to be affecting many people though.

I usually getting myself put in prison each big update to see if they've improved it, tbh it was running a lot smoother even with 10x the number of bodies and NPCs around.

Some of them have been struggling content wise since CIG slowed down the regular show episodes etc. Some thrive like SMB who can do his own thing, but others have to pick on every tiny detail and try to manufacture drama from it.
