******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

So I backed ages ago with the cheapest package (aurora lr). Having been invited to the PTU 2.0 and thoroughly enjoying it, I upgraded my ship a little to the Avenger.

Do I still need the AC module thingy to play it now or has it been consolidated??

Ahh cool, yea I bought it when it were £5 separate module thingy. Thought I had read I might be able to claim it back or something as I had heard it doesn't need to be bought anymore when purchasing new packages.

Thanks sir :)

Yeah they got rid of the pass rubbish, players get access to everything now as long as they have bought a game package and not just a standalone ship. Everyone who had passes got the equivalent in game currency (UEC) instead.

I find it odd how I just bought the game yet its only downloading v1.3. Howcome everyone doesn't have access to the latest version?

Hmm does that mean I can exchange my ac pass for some UEC somehow? Similar procedure to melting ships I am guessing?

What joystick should I buy for this and Elite Dangerous then? =D

Depends on your price range.

The T16000M is widely regarded as the best budget option as it uses the same sensors as much more expensive models (hall effect) where as most cheap joys use cheap potentiometers so are less accurate.

After that you have things like the X52 or X55 (I have the X55 myself)

If you want to go crazy then there are things like the Warthog (which is metal on the outside but still uses a plastic gimbal, but comes with a throttle), or the VKB sticks, which are amazing pieces of kit but £££.

Then there is also the CH stuff, which are supposedly very reliable but the design hasn't changed since the 80's.

The SC controller is supposed to up for preorder before Christmas as well, the stick and throttle sound like pretty good value $150 / £100, and has other addons available, but no one has had their hands on one so how it I for use/reliability is anyone's guess.
