******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I'm only really worried about how they join it all up, the modules may be great on their own eventually but the transition from one to the other will be just as important, I hate instancing and this will do a lot of it!

My understanding is that regardless of how silly you are you can always get a loan ship but may have to wait longer for it. Remember even if you are waiting for it being supplied you can crew someone else's ship and earn pay.

What ship are you guys most excited about which hasn't had a brochure or special sale recently? Personally it'd be the Gladiator (have one) or Starfarer (want one) but seem great on paper, love how the Gladiator looks and can see the benefits in having a Starfarer :)

I think I voted for everyone except it at some point, I like some parts of it but really dislike others, the ship itself is far too compact though and I don't think they've considered how bad it'll be with 4-5 people in it.

London = miles more expensive for anyone who doesn't live there, more so than almost anywhere else in the UK. Might as well make it Ornkey and be done with it :P

Guys it's not going to be in Scotland, let's not get excited. If there is one it's likely to be London, or if we (as if everyone outside London) is lucky perhaps Manchester ;)

Might submit a 10FTC asking..

Poor quality gameplay there, I don't know why they had to add FPS combat to this game. At this point it's almost certain that some aspects of the game will fail, let's hope they the get space exploration/trade/combat right.

I don't see what the problem is, for an alpha that's pretty sweet. If they improve that as well as they've improved AC I'll be a happy bunny!

There are plenty of problems, the animations are horrid, the characters look like they're sneaking on their toes when they move, the shooting lacks "impact" and the entire encounter consisted of blindly spamming rounds which is lackluster for a supposedly tactical FPS (their claim not mine).

BF3 isn't even considered a great FPS, just a good one and you can't even compare the two. This is why it puzzles me they invested in what's essentially a FPS minigame, if you don't have the resources to get it right, why bother?

I expect the FPS module to improve massively over the next 18 months, I'm not convinced the FPS module was started when they claimed it was either but I do hope the impact/sound etc is improved as those are usually the areas that kill a game for me. I don't think they have to follow current weaponry styles and sound effects though, this is a game set 900 years in the future, yes we may still use bullets of some kind (cheap and easy to make) but that doesn't mean they can't have some artistic license to alter sound and visual effects.

Real shame, although I remember when WMH started and there was a ton of people having a pop at him and the way the show was run, but he gradually won them over only to have the show replaced by ATV (which I've only watched twice).

Thanks, that's good to know. :)

I was thinking of things like dual t16000m sticks, but then they lack the portability factor... yes I intend to play SC on a laptop - fine when connected to external monitor in home environment, but can't easily carry more than a mouse and gamepad when away.

Headset + voice attack + joypad will make it fairly comparable with other control setups. You'll never have the fine control with joypad as you would with a joystick or even a mouse but the control systems should be reasonably balanced, there's no such thing as "balanced" control setups for a game like this - too many variables in controller configs.

T16000M is a lovely stick to use mate, I'm not a fan of the base buttons but love the stick :)

In other news, Banu MM now out of concept phase although still means probably 6 months + before it's "at" the hangar as I think it has to go outside the hangar itself.
