******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I've been looking at VKB's as well direct from the store, it works out to be around £250ish inc vat plus whatever the duty costs are when it lands in the uk. It's not bad considering its for 2 sticks.

I'm looking at the VKBs as well. Where are you getting 2 VKB evo glads for 250ish though?

Standard bit over £150 and the premium is bit under £190. With the angled omni throttle version almost 200. The omni adapter is almost 50 stand alone.

And then import I've been told is 40 or 80 ish.

Hmm unless im looking at this wrong, i get 148euro inc vat per stick plus a 5% discount code which can be found online pretty much gives me free shipping.

I'm on the EU site, does that still apply to us? It does allow shipping to the UK so i assume so. Okay i didn't factor in the customs duty though, that might be why im getting a lower value.

Oh I did forget about the 5% codes everyone has.

Free fly ships are the Titan, Arrow, Cutlass Black, Prospector and the Star Runner. That's a really good selection of ships.

The new Teal paint schemes are being sold for the Aurora and the 100i but only in the warbond starter packs.

The paints you get depend on the Guide you do with someone.
Basics: Drake Cutlass Black
Vehicle Combat: Aegis Gladius
FPS Combat: Anvil Valkyrie

Currently reading the monthly report and saw this

The problem with the monthly reports is that hardly anyone reads them, especially the SQ42.

There has been people in this thread in the past moaning how CIG never tells us any progress on SQ42 and it always whinds me up because once a month, CIG post a long article explaining what they worked on SQ42 and its progress...

I had a little argument with a mate recently about this. He was saying that CIG never tell us any progress or info on SQ42... once i showed up the previous monthly report, he kept silent and then moved on and complain and said (well where is the gameplay videos...)

ffs you dont need a youtube video showin u gameplay of sq42 every month. REad the monthly reports and use your imagination!!!

Its not like we dont know what SQ42 looks like.. Its being built on the same damm engine as SC with the same damm assets....

I read somewhere that most gamers are too lazy to read.

'every month', please link to the last official SQ42 gameplay video :) Use your imagination? It is not a book it is a video game  Years ago an employee said they had played through all the levels of SQ42 and were just polishing, how shiny it must be by now

Still waiting for you to show me where we get to vote on each feature...

How demanding on GPU is SC? Is it a case of throw as much as you can at it?
Yes and No. At times it won't even fully load a GPU due to other bottlenecks, at other times you'll be at 100% utilisation and still getting a poor framerate.

I'd not chose a GPU based on the state of this game unless you are seriously invested and already playing a huge amount of the game.

Thanks, more curiosity. My current target is a 7700XT as I expect the 7800XT to be worse price/performance by a fair way. Paired with a 5800X3D and at 1440p it should be more than adequate.

Where's a decent place to get Chair mounts for hotas? I looked at Monstertech ones and they're asking over £80 for each side! Madness!

Most of Monstertech's stuff is 8020 so can be ordered from a load of places, however you'll need to cut it yourself or get the supplier to do so. I had a quick look around a few uk sites and it didn't seem too bad for material but shipping added a good bit. Didn't compare prices though. The best place is to look at the sim racing side of things. There's also a Gaming Peripherals thread that people talk a bit about it in.

A Dev posted on the Spectrum forums about the new paints and Guide system. So at least sounds as if they're aware how crap the system is, how awful it is putting time limited ship paints into it etc.

"We are seeing a decent number of new players flowing through the guide system successfully, however, it's no secret that we've largely underestimated the number of veteran players that would sign up to be a guide. For this reason, we're going to update the criteria to make it more balanced/easier to get the rewards, and also add more rewards for the new player. More information coming tomorrow."

I did upload a performance video so those interested what the performance is like with a pretty mediocre system like mine.

30 hours later Youtube is still encoding the 1440P version, the 1080P version looks horrible.

What is it with Youtube? its only 20 minutes long.

Would you say a 1 TB drive with 600GB for the OS and a 400GB partition to install SC would be optimal? I presume there would be faster access than putting it on a separate drive?

Whatever is faster, it's fairly minimal improvement from SSD to M.2 as well. As long as it's not mechanical if you can avoid it.
Other than mechanical it really doesn't matter. I did some testing a few years ago and timing wise it's still pretty much the same: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-fE3XutVtA&t=1m57s
