No, I have no idea who "The Guardians of Peace and Power" are but they are in no way involved with the OcUK guild that is currently based on Beyond the Clock.

To anybody interested in the OcUK guild please sign up and share your opinions on important decisions such as Faction and server type etc.

Thats strange because when I am logged into BeyondtheClock (username Finners) and I click on my account and go to My Applications I see The Guardians of Peace in My Applications.

I think I'll be very interested in this once I return from deployment in February. Joined the other forum, not really sure what's organised yet though, seems like nothing basically :p?

Definitely against just having it called "OcUK"? If people did want that it'd be a case of having to confirm it with the powers that be :p

Tombstone was in touch with 5UB to see if we could, but we weren't allowed so can't use it unfortunately :( Or was that just for the website and stuff... I think it was something to do with the guild being an official OcUK guild, so since we couldn't do that I guess we can't / won't use the name.

Hmm, we did it for the Steam community so I don't see why - as long as there's control in the form of a forum mod/staff member as an admin of the group - we can't.

If people would still actually like to have it as a name then I'll find out more. I'm sure someone will be along to answer in a minute anyway, I'm a bit too busy to go further at the mo :p

I don't think we will be calling the guild OcUK so you don't need to waste your time trying to find out if it okay, but thanks for the offer. The name "OcUK" would limit the people who join to just people on here, whereas I think the plan is to get a solid base off here and then get people we find in the game to join to keep the guild going.

Well we have been told so little about the game that it is hard to decide, I think the option we will most likely be going for is having 2 guilds, one on each faction. However at the moment we only have about 30-40 members so splitting that in 2 would leave 2 very small guilds.

The problem with having 2 guilds with 15-20 members is that as soon as anybody is busy or stops playing it makes it very difficult to do things as a guild and with less activity the chance of people leaving the guild/game will be increased so the problem gets worse. If we had 40 members in one guild then a few people not being available would still leave plenty of people online to do guild activities and less people would become bored and leave, so overall there would be more members playing the game.

Just playing devils advocate Matt...

Raid groups are going to be a lot smaller in TOR compaired to other MMO's so it should be easy to fill them, plus you can use your companions in the 4 mans so you only need 2 peeps for those.

Seems Bioware are trying to take away the emphasis on assembling players and more on actually running the content with the players you have. Not saying that is a good thing though.

However that "could" mean the possibility of 1 dark side guild & 1 light side guild in 2 different channels on the same voice server. People could hop between good or bad but still be part of the same community.

oh rly.

They said that about the 5 man instances in LOTRO that me and my m8 2-maned.

Great challenge and also great fun.

Just need the right class combo's & companions and plenty of practice...

I understand your point about content but I was thinking about the social feeling of the guild.

Lets imagine you have 30 people in 2 guilds, so 15 in each. 3 people from each guild leave the game after the 30 days, 4 people from guild are busy and 2 others are AFK, you only have 6 people online in each guild, not much of a conversation is it? Now imagine you have the one guild in the same circumstances you have 12 people online, you can have a good conversation and have more people to do stuff with. If

If you were part of the smaller guilds and only had 6 people online you would most likely start to get bored of the game quicker than if you were in the bigger guild, because with less people it becomes abit boring.

Now can you see my point that you need more people to keep activity up otherwise you will be left with 2 very inactive guilds rather than 1 big active guild.

That is a fairly big reason as to why not much seems to be done, if we wait 'til closer to release we will be able to see if we have enough members to be able to keep 2 active guilds and then sort out everything we need for those two guilds(Voice comms etc.)

Yep I agree with what you've said, the social side HAS to come first.

The only issue I see with having one faction is that some people may really want to play the otherside and thus look for another guild.

I guess we cross that bridge in a couple of months tho.

Well going from the voting on the forums, i will be making my own guild with a few mates. We all wanted to go Sith and PVP but RP-PVP is a no no.

It shouldn't be a problem as we have 10+ members already.

Why do you not want to go RP-PVP? Also looking at the guild form on the Swtor website they don't even have an option for RP-PvP, so we might go on a PvP server anyway.

I completely understand if you and your mates don't join but I think it would be nice to have more members, can you perhaps wait a little while as we try to sort things out, as the guilds(One for each faction) are going to be signed up on the Swtor website soon.

It was the most favoured option however it appears that Bioware don't plan on making any PvP-RP servers...

Also to everybody interested in the OcUK guild could you please sign up at: http://www.beyondtheclock.com/home and could all current and new members please vote on the official guild name polls on Beyond the Clock please? I have set up 1 poll for each faction and the quicker everybody votes the quicker we can get the guild set up and maybe get a guild beta invite.

It would be interesting to see how folks would rp three thousand yers before anything we've seen. One could say and do anything and it would still be cannon, lost in the mists of time, the fog of sith.
Given weve seen that technology seems not to have changed in three thousand years its safe to assume anything would go and it would be totally unGMable.

For some reason I can't view beyondtheclock properly on this work computer, I can view it but the password box is missing and there's no buttons to reply or vote on the polls :p

Just adding my feeling here instead. If you guys are ging to create guilds on RP servers of any kind then I won't be joining you. RP does my head in :p

As there's no option for PvP-RP hopefully we can all agree to standard PvP :D
