Howdy All,

Been a few months since I last posted / played (April) I think. Started back again and have transferred from Frostclaw to Nightmare Lands under the free transfer. Anyone about on that server and can recommend a guild.

Must say it's nice to be playing SWTOR again, a lot has changed even in 2 months.

Out of interest in case I give this another try, what server/side are you on?

Nightmare Lands dude :)

I mostly play Republic side but I do have some Imps! :)

I spent the majority of a Voidstar the other day killing and /waving at a republic trooper I thought was you, name was similar but I checked the forums and it wasn't you at all!

Poor trooper.

Haha awesome. My Trooper is only 21 name is Carbine. I dont pvp to much but more likely my sage (Serente) when I do

Got my sorc in full rakata now plus I have a couple of BH pieces and campaign bracers, all fully augmented. I'm not far behind melee DPS on raids which I'm happy with and I'm ahead of the mercenary in the raid group.

60k? That has to be a completely made up number. They 1.7 million players originally, that dropped by 400k and I find it hard to believe another 1.25 million players also quit in the last 2 months.

It is estimated that there are only around 60,000 subscribers left out of the two million.

Maybe theyre getting confused with concurrent players? Anyway, the article wasnt very complimentary - just looking for the impression from the ground I think you would notice a 60k sub base.

Nice!

Are orange belt/bracers not better for you then campaign though?

That articles is absolutlely horrible and seems to be entirely based on hear say.

The migration between servers was INCREDIBLY smooth, we're talking moving the vast majortity of their players around and it was done with next to no fuss or problems. I'm sure a few players suffered some difficulty as there are always exceptions but the fact they're using the migration as a negative devalues the whole article for me.

"This has resulted in Bioware to merge game servers, a usually simple operation, which also did not go according to plan as it has been reported that many users have lost their created character in the game after the server merge or are being forced to create new ones if they want to continue playing on the new merger servers."

This is just plain false. No one has had their character "lost" and then told to re roll if they want to play, this guy would appear to be your typical bottom feeding journalist making up stories that support what ever agenda he's trying to push.

There's also no evidence given or sources to support the 60k figure but judging by the rest of the article he's probably taking any source that supports his story as fact.

Bioware announced on EA’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) show that the game will be going free to play up until Level 15 in the game. Never a good sign for a subscription based MMO so early in its life. Judging by other failed MMOs, SWTOR can be expected to go fully free to play after three or four months if the decreasing subscription trends continue.

This is also a load of nonsense. Free periods for MMO's are now common place in some shape or form and considering how this game is designd (story story story) giving people access to the firsrt 15 levels just makes good business sense.

If this game is F2P by November i'll be absolutely amazed.

Had to laugh at this bit:

I thought the transfers were handled pretty well to be fair - the only issue being the amount of time they took to implement them.

"Server Transfers - A usually simple operation?" What a retarded statement...

The only difference is how it looks, it's the mods that define how good the shell is, and you have to get the mods from campaign/BH gear, or have them crafted for you (expensive!). I think with campaign gear you get a set bonus though, however for sorcs it's not all that good. I personally like the look of BH/campaign gear so will keep it till I get valor rank 70 and I get wear orange war hero gear (looks like a bad ass predetor!).

A more sensible complaint would be how extremely limited the server transfers system is.

I gave up with SWTOR republic a month or so after release as there wasnt really much to do after hitting max lvl and gearing out. I loved Huttball though and wouldnt mind having another play of that.

A few other things that annoyed me was the interface and the auto camera which meant you couldn't look behind/target when running - I played a Sorcerer (healer).

Has much progressed since my departure from the game ie the camera and ui ? Is the PvP any better ? how are sorcerers these days, they wasnt great in PvP iirc back then.

Not sure when you stopped playing or what spec you were but until recently Sorc's were borderline OP in pvp.

Interface is now movable / customisable to a degree, most people seem to be pleased with it. IMO it could still use some extra functions but each to their own i guess!

Camera has definitely been fixed and you can now set it however you prefer, there's now rated pvp games if you want to pursue that but all in all pvp is in a pretty decent place right now. I pvp a lot and I enjoy it greatly.

At max level there are plenty of flashpoints and operations to take part in and they've now introduced a group finder tool so it's pretty simple to get a group together. The legacy system encourages rolling alts and I would recommend you enjoy some of the other stories, I've never enjoyed levelling alts but I now have 4 max characters in this game purely because the levelling experience sucked me in.

Not sure if they'll be sending out any free game time to old players any time soon but if those were your reasons for quitting I'd say they'd all been resolved now.
