Tempted to get back into this - is there much of a player base/activity in the game any more though?
I am gonna get back into this. Start over, Which server should I roll on?
Anyone know what queues are like on TOFN for dps/tanks in flashpoints?
Thinking of returning to the game, quit because of issues with the game/things outside of my control such as population/lack of guilds/faction imbalances/class faults etc. However some of them seems to have been sorted!
I love tanking, but this time none of my friends are playing so I'm doing it solo; I had a god awful time playing as a tank outside of actually being a tank in nightmare raids (clear nm first two ops). PVP required a dedicated healer otherwise my awesome defences amount to nothing with my bad DPS and back then finding a healer to stick to was impossible unless my guild/friends were on. Flashpoints were easy to get into, but I stopped doing them very fast as there was no need to do it.
However this time around from 50-55 I'm thinking of going DPS, I doubt I could find a guild that needs a tank and dps slots seem more plentiful. However, I've always played with rl friends, this is the first time I have to rely on randoms/pugs to play with. This is either going to be rediculously bad or surprisingly fun.
I think Red Eclipse is one of the busier servers.
I'm installing at the moment! Will resub later on today when site is back up after maintenance. Are there any deals for resubbing? I assume the recent content update will get me some game time if I buy that? Will it be at the full subscriber level?
I'll be rerolling too most likely, so let us know what server and I'll join
Not sure yet, takes me a while to decide when rerolling. Got 5gb of patches first (probably a load more after, installed from disc) then I'll have a look
Two sides to the coin.
As a random tank you will get flashpoint pops all day long and have good chances of getting into random SM operations.
But as a random tank you are very unlikely to see the hardest operations since it would require a guild to trust you to control the fights or at least be happy with the consequences of practicing with a random tank.
My money is on you having a bad time if you really go for being a random tank and doing just pug operations.
Lots of wasted time and wipes for bad reasons.
So with server transfers coming soon, how many of you Red Eclipse PvP guys are thinking about jumping to the Tomb of Freedom Nadd????
I have to admit I'm thinking about moving over myself. I may wait a few weeks to see how many guilds come over to the Red Eclipse first because we do have the healthier pop.
I know one of the best PvP guilds on the TRE are moving over to ToFN just for the more competitive PvP.
Is there much point in me downloading this again?
- Is there much of an active player base for PVP (how often do battlegrounds pop?)
There is on ToFN.
