*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

A guild perk you say.........i really should read the updates when they come out. Guess i best go find me a guild. Haven't been in one so far as a very casual player and my play time is very sporadic, so can't do the 'lets go do stuff on this day at this time' as 9 times out of 10 on that I wont be able to get on.

Is that perk cumulative to the XP boosts also?

"Players who are in a guild will now receive a 5% bonus to all experience gained"

I'm sure they are. I know when they had the double xp weekends you could use a xp boost too.

So an extra 30% xp with both.

I didnt want to create a new thread for this so hoping to get an answer here.

I dont own a PC, but as a massive star wars fan and having found out theres no new games for the foreseeable future, is it worth me getting into this? Is there any single player element to it at all? I'm not really an online gamer but I need a star wars fix and I'm looking at running this on my 2011 MBP. If not then I might just buy a cheap gaming PC to play it, thats if its still worth getting into?

You need to be online play it, but its free to play now but the restrictions are quite harsh. But you may get away with it if all you care about is the story.

Panthro,

Whilst not completely designed for single player, you can work your way through the majority of the game on your own (as I have done). You do, however, need to be connected online at all times to be able to play.

The game is Free To Play up to level 50 (with limitations on a few things in there with the FTP) so why not just download it and give it a go. You have nothing to loose and if you do like it, you can then subscribe

I also dont know if you can do flashpoints (epic awesome reeking of star wars) by yourself. But you can easily team up with people. And if you join my server ill gladly help you out. As long as you aint no stinking republic dog, in which case stop reading my post you dont deserve my help.

Thanks guys. Going to go home, find a decent dock for my MBP and download the mac version (if there is one?).
Does it work well with a game pad? I want to get my PS3 pad working on the MBP.
