Its not going to be any more than £9.99 - nothing ever is or has been. If the market leader is £8.99, you dont go in regardless of what you have and pitch it higher, especially £6 higher, it would be suicide.

As mentioned above, there have been and still are, games higher than £9.99, so its not the case that nothing ever is or has been.

Many companies in the past have proposed a higher price point than the market leader, that doesnt mean that none ever will. As I mentioned earlier, SWG was originally priced higher than the market leader, so it does happen. The question isnt can it happen, the question is will it happen and ultimately nobody on here knows the answer to that and nor will we until they confirm a price.

Eve has enough difference to WoW in order for people to pay more to play it I'd imagine (not saying either are bad, just if you want a game like Eve there isn't much else) so they wouldn't be looking at Eve and complaining that 'WoW only charge this much though!?'.

As for Swtor... EA talking more recently about competing with WoW so very much doubt they would charge much more (if anything) than blizzard are at present as it would just be a reason for WoW players not to try it I guess.

I would imagine that a portion of WoW players who prefer fantasy rather than sci-fi wont try SWTOR simply because it has pew pew lasers in it :)

We'll just have to wait and see, if EA decide to charge £9.99 for SWTOR then as I say that actually works out as £12 for us due to the tax. If EA decide to copy SWG and charge $14.99 a month then there will be uproar from the US market if the EU subscription is less than theirs, they'd have to make it equivalent here.

Ultimately we just dont know, they could just match WoW and to do so they could just announce that price point right now, I cant see any reason why they would withhold the price if its going to just be the normal price, I can only see a reason to withhold the price if its going to be different from the normal price (be it higher or lower). All we can do is wait.

At the same time I can't recall an mmo that fully announced anything regarding price plans until they had a release date and system specs out there or were at least closer to release, some 'rumours' suggesting Swtor won't even be out until September. I'm not saying 'oh they definately won't charge more' I just think you're possibly reading too much into it, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Then maybe its time to set yourself apart from the rest by announcing things in advance, cant become a market leader by doing the same as everyone else after all :)

You're right, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm not saying they definitely will charge more, just saying that I wouldnt be surprised. Then again I dont surprise easily :D

this game is going to burn so hard.. it doesnt matter who makes it and whats in it. people will play this for a month and then move onto the next mmo or go back to WoW.

WoW will end up being dead, but more likely from Titan than this.

I agree with the WoW comment, but not with anything else.

My fear however with this game, given how Bioware have became console whores, is that it will appear on consoles and the PC will be the testing ground.

Any particular reasoning behind this sweeping statement, iamtheoneneo?

Just digging through some old screens found this
1st_Mandalorian_Set.jpg

:( miss those days, that's our old guild leader standing by our Mando shrine :) first full set created on any server. Don't miss the 3am raids though, being on a yankie server sucked for me!

(armour colour creation was random! you had no choice, a CSR changed it all for us to pink shortly after this, our raid team were called Pinkalorians) :D
